Let me be more specific--Does an overnight USPS from Richmond Law School waiting at school necessarily mean an acceptance?

crysmissmichelle claims that all acceptances this early come via phone call
(obviously I'm hoping this isn't necessarily the case since I haven't gotten one yet, but just thought I'd throw that out there)

I "Claim" that's all I've seen on this board in the last two years. . . .I do not "claim" to have insider Richmond Law knowledge.
The last piece of mail I got from UR (before the Acceptance letter today, which came AFTER the phone call) was Tuesday. . . a letter from the UR Student Bar Assoc. . . . .they send a lot of letters.
The bar association letter came in a small envelope, the acceptance in a big one with the folder inside. Whoever is telling you about the mail will probably be able to describe it pretty well.
Neither was sent with "Overnight" on it.

No need to get defensive, I was just repeating what you said earlier in TT.

FYI I just got an email that was meant for accepted students, congratulating me on my acceptance... called admissions and they said it was sent in error to the entire email list. Just figured I'd alert TLS! Don't get too excited if you see that in your inbox.

I *think* I got in via email this morning. It was sort of a strange email. Not as official as I would have thought.

Yeah, it could be worse. A ton of people who applied really early in the cycle to UMN had their status checkers change to "Accepted" and then it went away a little while later, and someone called and found out it was a glitch. IIRC, they didn't even email them to tell them, I think they just hoped no one would notice. Fortunately most (if not all) were accepted a few weeks later.

I called them.. I'm working from home today thanks to the snow storm, so as soon as I got the email, I was confused and called the office. The woman who answered sounded very stressed

I definitely got my hopes up too. Not a good way to start off the day. But at least they weren't rejections.

I just got the email telling me I was "invited" to apply for the scholarship. I have not received an acceptance from the school.
When does it say the application is due? The email I got said it was due January 4th, but if it really wasn't I might consider applying. I was going to wait to find out if I was accepted before I applied, I assumed they would have gotten back to me before then since I applied in November but apparently not.
This scholarship essay must be completed and return to the Law School by February 2, 2011. Did your email tell you the two prompts you can choose from? Let me know if you want me to forward you my email.

Yeah, it did. It's interesting that they have two different deadlines. Maybe they didn't get many applicants?

Yeah, that is strange. I sent my app in around November 10th. I retook the LSAT in December and didn't receive the email until after the Dec. scores came out.
Edit: the typo is verbatim from the email too, lol (return instead of returned)

They also left of a punctuation mark in their "lol jk" email right after they accidentally sent acceptances to everyone whose decision wasn't even made yet. Makes me feel less bad about the typo in my PS. lol

Has anyone else been accepted into the Summer Session? I'm wondering if it is worth it, looks like it would cost around $10,000 and to graduate early you must take another summer class after 1L or 2L.
