GL Don! Just remember its "Hahhhhvuhd" not "Harvard." You don't want to look like you didn't research how to pronounce the school's name.

Very true. You don't want to sound like a pretentious douche or anything.

Pro tip: the longer you can draw it out the better.

Edit: And submitted 10/27.

Pretty good sign... JR1 = probably at least 85% chance of acceptance at this point in the cycle.

I sure hope so...

Thanks. I'm trying to cover up my annoying Chicago accent, so I'm gonna draw out that hahhhhvuhd for all it's worth.

Also, try and mention yachting at least 3, 4 times in your interview to be safe.

And boating shoes. And tying cardigans around your neck.

Make sure to bring it up organically. "Why Harvard?" "It provides me unparalleled opportunity to use my Yacht, which I named 'Above the Law.'"

Or you could just narrate your own actions/refer to yourself in the third person.

JR: Why Harvard?
You: That is an excellent question, he thought, as he tossed his cardigan nonchalantly over his shoulder, gazing at the ocean from his yacht...

Because I'm assuming to get accepted you need a JR1 and if you're going to get in off the waitlist, that must hold true also...so is it that you would have already had one around now/when your app first went complete? Or way later in the cycle once all decisions are made and they are then reviewing waitlist and selecting some for further review/JR1?

Looking at last year's thread, it seems that there were some who had a JR1 and then were waitlisted and some who got waitlisted then had a JR1/JR2.

How long did it take from "law school report sent by Harvard's request" to "under review" for you people?

Woke up under review at Harvard, and although it says 11/8 I didn't see it yesterday.

Submitted Halloween... trick or treat?
Received 11/1

Raise your hand if you have been under review sans JR1 for a long time (>2 weeks)

As a current Hahhhvuhd student (not at the law school), I can testify that I have seen (in law school classes) guys wearing polo shirts, cardigans around the neck, shorts, and boating shoes. Even in the middle of winter. None have mentioned yachting, but I wouldn't rule it out.

Was just stepping into a public restroom when JR called. Ended up being a little flustered. Talked too much at one point.

He ended the interview saying that they'll send my application to the faculty review committee and I'll hear after Thanksgiving. Is that normal, or does that mean, "We need to think about this?"

oxford_don wrote:Had mine today. Short (7 minutes), I wish I said more but I can imagine that he doesn't people to talk his ear off.

But I have to reiterate everything that has been said. He is very nice, its a low-stress conversation, he asked me a specific question about my application (though not that specific), why law school, why harvard, do you have any questions.

Time to wait and keep replaying a 7 minute phone conversation in my phone over and over and over :(

There's no need for a follow up email right? Like a thanks for the interview kind of thing? Just curious about the etiquette of these things.

Consensus here is "no need."
