Will a random applicant saying "You will be ok" (which probably is the case, anyway, with your numbers) really help? If so, you will be ok !!!

Dinged yesterday. Finally the waiting is over! Now I can concentrate on my real future, not my fantasy future.

I think it's only a bad sign if you can show that people who had a JR1 around the same time have already gotten a JR2 (good luck finding that information). But just try to relaxxxx there are so many people in this thread who haven't even had a JR1 so you're doing a lot better than the rest of us. Also your numbers are absurd so if you don't get in there's no hope for anyone else lol

Should I send a letter of continued interest if I haven't heard anything since December 9th? No JR1, nothin, just UR.

I'm no expert, but I figured I'd get the ball rolling. I think the consensus is that LOCIs are difficult to write for Harvard, since everyone still in the running by and large has continued interest. I'd suggest writing the letter only if you have something (positive) to update them with. More recent transcript, new job, etc. Keep in mind that you don't want to bombard their office with letters, so this is probably your one chance...make sure you have something useful to say, and that you won't kick yourself later for using your opportunity right now.

For what it's worth, I'd suggest sending in the letter if you in fact have something (positive) to say. You might just win yourself a JR1. Remember though, anything you say can/will be held against you.

Without having to read 118 pages of this thread, can someone give me a quick rundown of what a mid-January complete, nothing further applicant should be thinking? Thanks in advance.

You shouldn't be thinking much. It seems like a lot of people who get in receive their JR1s a few weeks after submitting (like anywhere between 2-5 weeks), but this is not the rule. It's taken longer for some people, such as the holds, and it looks like JR has gotten back to them recently (fall applicants, January holds, recent JR1 receivers).
That's all I've gathered from following this thread for a few weeks.

Board is surprisingly quiet given the high hopes of another wave of acceptances tomorrow...gentleman's agreement to post on TLS if/when admits start coming in?

I don't think you have to worry about that. TLSers will DEFINITELY be posting if they get a JR2.

Haha, nice. I can't do anything productive, time is moving slowly...and I can't help but feel I'm all excited for nothing. It's a crappy feeling, but I guess I'm pretty lucky to have the crappy feeling.

It would be interesting if someone could examine the relationship between self-assessed JR1 evaluation and JR2. I'm guessing there would be little to no correlation. Dulcatis should make a spreadsheet.

Have you ever heard of someone who felt they nailed the JR1? It didn't strike me as the sort of thing you could hit out of the park? (This isn't to say the spreadsheet is a bad idea or that there aren't different levels of bombing, I'm just curious).

I haven't really heard of anyone nailing the JR1, but definitely people who felt confident about it. Not the largest sample size though.

Edit: And if someone did make it, they should probably include index #s too. I should ask that "Stat" guy who did the TLS OCI statistics.

I don't do index #s, I am too lazy (esp for forms not related to me). Let me know if you'd like any other questions added~
