The show was so clearly on its way to getting much, much, much better (it got so much better over the course of the season alone!) that it wins "canceled before its time" points with me.

And I was surprised by how good and angry the movie was.

I noticed they appeared immediately on the status checker (with the date of LSAC receipt), even though LSAC had said the additional report (LOR) was not yet sent. Only later did LSAC show the PDF to note that it had been created and sent.

I'm just happy to talk about something not depressing in this thread while in held limbo. There's only so many times around the circle one can go on about LOCI's (and remain sane of course).

It's on Netflix instant watch! As are all of Joss Whedon's shows, a fact which makes me very happy.

Trying to be vaguely Harvard related, but really, nothing at all has happened in a week or more, what are we supposed to talk about?

Theirs might have gone JR1 now just because it's a late app - I don't know if this has implications for holds/forgottens.

It would be more interesting if one of the pre-xmas applicants receive a JR1. We only have hope when they get around to re-review us. This seems to be the case for every remaining school for me now.

Haha at this point that is really all I care about...but I have a feeling that with an UR date of 12/15 I am headed for the hold list at best...

Has anyone ever compiled data on JR1-->JR2 intervals, either on this thread or another? I know someone has made some neat spreadsheets and graphs but I recall them being more about submission dates/complete dates/decision dates. LSN isn't ideal because it only includes JR1 info if the applicant puts it into the comments.

It seems like some go JR1 to JR2 in 5 or 6 calendar days, others wait a couple weeks, and others get the JR1 and then a cricket noise. If we can get a decent pile of info together, we could waste at LEAST a couple thread pages tormenting ourselves with statistically-unsound attempts to figure out which characteristics (submission date, numbers, perceived quality of JR1 conversation) get people a quick turnaround. We'll never catch the Columbia thread without stirring up some reply-provoking speculative paranoia!

True, but I figured given the tension in this thread, even people on hold would be interested in the fact that SOMETHING is happening.

I am still sour over not being held at Columbia :x

I still have way too many decisions that I can about. This process may last into the summer. Sigh. I should study for a retake in JUNE.

are you still waiting on them to say anything, or were you rejected?
haven't you already done that? I don't think I could defer going to law school two years in a row that I wanted to go. You got into Michigan, which is an amazing school. Is it really HYSC for you or nothing?

Problem is, the last thing we need is this thread being busy and keep getting bumped with posts that contain no news. There is no statistical quality that you can discern, quite simply, shit happens.

True.

Does saying that my JR1 went down on Wednesday 2/2 as scheduled despite the HLS offices being closed count as useful information? I've been paranoid to mention since I get the feeling I'm literally the ONLY TLSer who was supposed to have the JR1 that day.

Yes, it actually is, people were wondering about that. I think you are definitely in, considering JR braved a blizzard to talk to you.

Harvard and Stanford offer amazing programs for what I want to study (and Boalt). So I would love to have my pick. I am on hold at H. I am half jk about June, but if I get on the WL somehow, maybe?

I don't really care too much about the ranking as long as it's T10 or so for the employment advantages. But in UG I studied the scholarship of multiple professors at HS, so I would like to have a chance to do so in person in law school.

When the snowpocalypse card is not in play, do JR1/2s usually come from a 617-495-xxxx/617-496-xxxx number (those seems to be the Harvard areacodes and prefixes)? I'm wondering if I'm seriously looking at his cell/home number in my call log (and contemplating deleting it so I don't butt-dial the one person in the world that I really really need to like me right now).

I kind of wish there was more info about the interval between JR1 and JR2 as well. I browsed a bit, on LSN and on the Harvard thread from last year, and I sort of gathered that the longer the spacing, the less likely you are to get in. I mean, people do still get in a couple months after their JR1, but it seems like no one gets rejected immediately after their JR1, so all the rejects have longer spacing, and many of the accepted have very short intervals.

This is why I am slowly starting to feel less confident, after having my JR1 early last week.

You are fine. Even if you don't get in soon, when it's time to re-review, you are going to have a leg up.

I had the JR1 on 2/2 as well. It's all crickets so far for me. I will post if I get any further response.
