It is tucked away on the bottom of the second page of the resume, and it is in an otherwise carefully edited application that's not riddled with errors. I conveniently submitted this resume to Stanford, NYU, and Columbia also. First, any idea if this is a make-or-break mistake? Second, I already emailed NYU and Columbia an "updated" version of the resume. Would this be a good idea at Harvard? I submitted on 11/15 and have been UR for a while, not sure of the exact date. So I'm leaning toward not mailing a new copy of the resume, thinking that it might be too late and that it might also just highlight the error. My numbers are 173/3.81.

This kind of question gets asked a lot, and the usual answer is "it will have virtually no effect."

Imagine you were someone reading applications all day, for months straight. What are the odds that you'd notice the error? If you did notice it, what effect would it have on your evaluation of the person? I'm sure that numerous or more egregious typos would give the impression of sloppiness, but if I were you, I'd probably just do nothing.

Since you're already UR, I'm leaning towards maybe just letting it go. I also had a resume mistake and was able to email Columbia since I'm not even complete there yet. I think I heard somewhere that Harvard doesn't take email updates (I may be wrong??), and it might slow their evaluation of your file.

Has anyone on TLS ever gotten in without a JR1? I've been UR since 11/16 BTW, but didn't get the complete email until the 24th.

No, everyone who is accepted gets JR1 at one point or another (if not now then during waitlist). I'm also in the same boat as you in terms of timeline, but I'm not a URM. Best of luck!

On a separate note, I've been UR since 11/24 and I didn't even apply until early Nov. Do they have some crazy efficient adcomm team or am I just in the auto-ding pile? (Both?)

I believe they are very efficient. I applied 11/10 and went UR 11/22. But it could be that I'm automatically out as well. (I'd rather not think this way though) :)

I went UR like five days after submitting. And I'm having my JR1 today. So going UR fast doesn't mean you're an auto-ding! Don't worry! :D

On another note. OMG JR1 in less than three hours SFADHGJDSAFD

Don't do this to yourself. You don't know that it would make a difference.

True, true. But all the talk of what a difference being above both medians makes isn't exactly making it easy for me.

So any new JR1 emails today? Or can I stop being nervous for another day?

I just got an email from Harvard saying that my application is complete as of today and is submitted for review by the committee....however my status has been under review since 11/22...... is there a JR review vs. Committee review at Harvard, or maybe they are just processing the emails late? Any thoughts?

The same thing happened to me. My heart flew into my mouth when I saw the email alert on my phone. I bet they're just processing emails late. And making us squirm!

Haha. Yeah. The amount of time I'm spending on TLS is increasing exponentially every day! Come on, schools. Let me know NOW!

With you guys in the same batch (UR 11/22, complete email today). Is there anyone by chance who has already received a JR1 who went UR 11/22 so I can focus on finals instead of worrying?

Congrats to everyone who has received a JR1 and JR2!

Just to add my record to the forum...I received my JR1 email on 11/30 and had my call 12/1. Fingers crossed for the next two Mondays!
