Sorry to detract from admissions hysteria, but how do I go about saying hi to the admissions office if I go visit?

Yep. Harvard would just be a nice surprise at this point.

ANNNNNNDDDD....I am pretty sure the rest of your application more than makes up for a .05 difference in GPA.

I tried that last week when I went in. But I felt super awkward about it and ended up just turning in my form. The only question I really wanted answered was how many seats they have left and if there will be anymore JR1s going out, and I didn't know if that would be appropriate to ask haha. Since my file update obviously has my name on it I'm just hoping they at least take note that I made the effort to come see the campus. Probably didn't do anything.

I am actually unsure of how to take the information that there have been both a rejection and a JR2 today.. It seems that things are DEFINITELY slowing down, but, and I may be wrong here, I think it creates more of a sense of uncertainty than of inevitable doom. The fact that HLS went off the beaten path today makes me terrified of my email inbox, but not completely hopeless. At any rate, there seem to be only few folks that haven't heard anything at all - I am one of them - and it seems like these next two weeks may be do or die for us.

Still foolishly maintaining hope.. Please, JR, don't make me look stupid.

I also haven't heard anything- not even a hold- so we're in the same boat. :( I FEEL pretty doomed at this point, but I think you're right, it doesn't make sense to make hard and fast assumptions.

I don't know if this helps with all the analysis, but I was supposed to have my interview on Friday March 11th but was out of town, so I should have been in the last round of JR1s/JR2s (the first group taken off the hold, I think). So maybe this ends the first round of taking a second look at applications! Keep up the optimism, I'm rooting for you guys!

I haven't heard anything either. I turned in my application right at the deadline, went UR pretty much the next day or soon after. Never went through a hold, had my JR1 on February 14th and haven't heard anything since. :(

So what exactly does a hold mean? I was assuming I was just going to be outright rejected, should I take this as the faintest glimmer of hope? Or do they hold everyone and not really issue denials?

Held as well, submitted in January. Not sure what the point is- I expected to be rejected fairly quickly.
