Re: Harvard 2011 Applicants
I got my complete email today too, even though my status checker said I was already under review 10/5. Still no JR1 email. Sigh.
Hopefully this is not a bad sign.

Re: Harvard 2011 Applicants
Here's a good thread with info. about when people received emails in the last cycle: http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... =7&t=93290
Looks like plenty of folks received complete emails before JR1 emails. So here's to hoping.

Congrats, I guess this probably isn't a good sign for the rest of us.tkgrrett wrote:Just got JR1. Went under review 10/13

That's what I thought. Although I don't know if it is that typical to receive a JR1 so soon after going under review. Last year it seems to take a week or more for most.CastleRock wrote:Congrats, I guess this probably isn't a good sign for the rest of us.tkgrrett wrote:Just got JR1. Went under review 10/13

Does it reflect poorly if you don't write a thank you email after a JR1?

This thread is so fun. I can't wait to submit my application and join the conversation! Congrats to everyone who has received a JR1 invitation.

Nah I remember seeing tkgrrett... he's probably among the top URM applicants for the entire cycle so he's almost definitely in (but that doesn't really have any direct relation many other people's chances)CastleRock wrote:Congrats, I guess this probably isn't a good sign for the rest of us.tkgrrett wrote:Just got JR1. Looks like I'm definitely not getting a JR1. Confused though because I got my complete email today even though I went under review by status checker 10/5.

Re: Harvard 2011 Applicants
um, to quell any confusion...
last yr, complete emails and JR1 emails had absolutely no correlation (relatively speaking)
you could get one before the other...makes no difference
like i mentioned earlier, this may have to do w/ how your app is simply processed as JR views it some time during the whole shebang...he isnt the final step (so it can go out of order for everybody)
i wouldnt be freaked out if you got a complete and no JR1, etc. you could easily still get it later on...there was, i think, a greater positive correlation (though still not amazing) with date of submission and batches of JR1s going out

Why so quiet? No one heard from JR today?

Please don't say anything. I didn't get one today, so if no one else did that's a good sign for me.playdough wrote:Why so quiet? No one heard from JR today?

Re: Harvard 2011 Applicants
Hmm. I kind of expected some kind of pattern for when JR1 emails go out and when the interviews are conducted. I was thinking maybe the emails go out at the end of every week and then the interviews are scheduled at the beginning of the following week. Of course, this is based off only 2 weeks of data, and that too with a Monday holiday for one of those weeks. But this week doesn't seem to totally fit that - it does not seem like many emails went out on Thursday and any went out on Friday. Anyone know if JR1 emails go out on certain days of the week?

Re: Harvard 2011 Applicants
Thanks! They get so many applications every day that I worry mine will get buried pretty quickly if they don't like it pretty early on. I also imagine they are trying to get through all the pre-Oct LSAT apps before that whole truckload comes in, which should be in about two weeks...so my guess is that if I don't hear about a JR1 during this next week, I am out of the game.

tkgrret submitted oct 13, zizek submitted the 29th. But they both had a lot going for them.

Re: Harvard 2011 Applicants
Yea, that is the one that worries me the most. But there was no one from about the 20th to the 28th who reported a JR1, so I'm assuming zizek was an anomaly.
Edit: his stats were pretty decent, I won't say what they were, but they may warrant the anomaly.

Re: Harvard 2011 Applicants
Just finished the JR1.. he was shockingly chill. Tailored the questions specifically to my app so it wasnt as generic as I thought it would be. Overall, very nice process.. I was nervous and have a tendency to talk fast in general so it may have showed but he didnt seem to mind. I asked him a bit about his time at/decision to attend Harvard and he seemed to genuinely like the place.

Sounds like you got their attention, what with the super fast review and all, I am confident you will hear back with great news soon! Congrats!tkgrrett wrote:Just finished the JR1.. he was shockingly chill. Tailored the questions specifically to my app so it wasnt as generic as I thought it would be. Overall, very nice process.. Re: Harvard 2011 Applicants
Mine was exactly what I expected based on reading TLS.
Why law school?
Why Harvard?
Do you have any questions?
It probably lasted around five minutes.
