Re: Harvard 2011 Applicants
Hello my fellow Harvard applicants and acceptees! I just applied last week and was wondering if someone could please tell me the order off statuses up to receiving a decision on Harvard's status checker? At what status do people usually receive a JR1 and how long do decisions usually take? Thank you and good luck to all!

Re: Harvard 2011 Applicants
Looks like it takes about 3 weeks for your application to go from processing to "under review." then sometime during the next few weeks you may or may not get a JR1. If you do, schedule and do it and then hope for a JR2 the next week or so. If you don't get a JR1, join the legion of the Harvard Forgotten: http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 7&t=145259JoeShmoe11 wrote:Hello my fellow Harvard applicants and acceptees! Oh... and then at some random point after all of this stuff your status will turn to "complete"

lzyovrachievr wrote:That is how Harvard's status checker works. People who have high enough numbers etc usually submit, go UR, hear from JR, and then go Complete. It happens to everyone and has been well documented over and over in the last few months. Also- that e-mail is sent to everyone. Yes, he calls, but that e-mail is sent to everyone so don't worry about it. (Essentially, chill, you're fine.)shoop wrote:CONFUSED. Same issue as juliachild-ish.
I submitted 12/25, got the application acknowledgment email 1/3, and my status checker went to "Under Review" on 1/14.
BUT, this morning I got an email that my application is "complete." But my status checker hasn't changed from UR 1/14.
I was also mildly disturbed that the "complete" email said "We will notify you promptly once a decision is made. Those decision notifications will be made via email."
Everyone knows you get into Harvard by a phone call from JR. Has anyone who's gotten into HLS gotten this same complete email, or are they preparing me for my inevitable email ding?
Edit: Also, the status checker will stay at review (not complete) and even if you don't get the JR1 before you go complete, you're fine. You're probably not an auto-admit, but neither is most everyone. People have gotten calls even months after.
Second Edit: YES, YOU DO GO UNDER REVIEW BEFORE YOU GO COMPLETE. <3 Lzy

WHAT ABOUT THOSE OF US WITH JR1s TOMORROW? My office is closed but I'm braving the freaking storm of the century and coming in anyways so that I can take the call on a landline instead of my cellphone.neonx wrote:Harvard Law Admissions Office is closed tomorrow due to severe weather advisory. They will return on Thursday, February 3rd. So, I expect possibly some movement for those in the "forgotten" pile on Friday.

I'm curious if this ever went down. That's a weather-related interference to be genuinely bothered about.shoop wrote:WHAT ABOUT THOSE OF US WITH JR1s TOMORROW? After reading the Columbia thread, I feel like it's necessary to thank Harvard for being so consistent. Being held sucks, but at least Harvard is clear on what it means.

Lol, I'm scared to go into that Columbia thread. Too much craziness, Jersey Shore seems more tame at the moment.arkansawyer wrote:After reading the Columbia thread, I feel like it's necessary to thank Harvard for being so consistent. Being held sucks, but at least Harvard is clear on what it means.

Harvard has also not accepted more than a couple of people with my stats. I look safe at Columbia.glitched wrote:didn't harvard do the same exact thing except just not all at once like columbia? and interviews/acceptances by email/phone.
