FWIW- I got a post-hold JR1, sent a LOCI a few weeks after the JR1, and have not received a JR2. I didn't have anything worth updating until after my JR1. Now I'm expecting WL at best (which is fine since H was a huge reach with my #s). I don't think sending a LOCI could hurt at this point, though.degibogen214 wrote:I wrote one immediately after being held in January, and received both my JR 1 and my JR2 a few weeks ago! That's what I am doing. Nothing exciting to add, but I figure it's worth the effort. I mean I think Harvard likes to hear specific reasons why you want to go there beyond just it's Harvard.sarahlawg wrote:I really have nothing t o update about =/ just working the same job/doing the same activities. how does an loci look if all I have to say is I love H for x reasons?

I don't know what JR was reading the other night, but it sure hasn't amounted to much around here! Next week I'm planning to solo road trip from central Ohio to DC and NYC to visit a few schools. I'd be happy to add another 7 hours to my drive to get up to Cambridge. I leave on Monday... Come on, JR!

I just withdrew from my offer of admission, so hopefully something opens up for one of you. Good luck!

I was held last week... the email said, "These decisions may be made at any time between now and late spring." Granted it also said that if I don't hear from them by mid-April to deposit somewhere else while I wait.ExpectLess wrote:The final LSN RD acceptances from last year came this Monday and Tuesday...

Sounds good since it's probably too late to get a regular JR1.rocktower3 wrote:Yep, sure am.neonx wrote:Any below median(s) people just hoping for a wait list? LOL.

Do you know how long it has been since a JR1 happened? I could go and dig if you don't know. Either way, why keep holding us with no interview and no ding?r6_philly wrote:Sounds good since it's probably too late to get a regular JR1.rocktower3 wrote:Yep, sure am.neonx wrote:Any below median(s) people just hoping for a wait list? I'm not sure when the last ones were, would be interesting to try and find that....nadopretz wrote:Do you know how long it has been since a JR1 happened? I could go and dig if you don't know. No interview/no ding- At this point I'm hoping I'm slotted for the waitlist, that's probably as good as it's going to get.

Too much time on my hands, looks like most recent one was 3/16. Here is what I dug up:
degibogen214 on 3/31: I wrote one immediately after being held in January, and received both my JR 1 and my JR2 a few weeks ago! I'm a pretty marginal candidate, too. Although, if I recall, a couple post-hold JR1s may not have written a LOCI. Couldn't hurt, I guess?
vi_vi on 3/22: i had my JR1 on 2/14...got held today :/
law_monkey on 3/22: I feel like it was the batch with eaa and gatorgirl. I don't remember any after them, and that was a couple weeks ago (don't know the exact date).
kak5n on 3/21: I applied in October, was held in January, had my JR1 on Wednesday, got the phone call at 10:30 this morning!

I'm pretty sure kak5n was supposed to be in the 3/14 batch of JR2s because he/she had to reschedule their JR1s.nadopretz wrote:I'm not sure when the last ones were, would be interesting to try and find that....
