I dunno seems pretty patronizing, I think everyone should withdrawal from the WL and admitted list in protest.

I'm just going to ignore that part. I feel like they won't be very happy if we tell HLS they're only good enough for us before X/X/XX
I think it's just reasonable, as far as people signing leases, etc. I said until July 15.
Yeah agreed, I said June 30th, as my planned roommate will need time to find other living arrangements...

ALSO, since it seems like H has just waitlisted everyone thats left, why did it take them so long???

If you are reasonably certain that you would accept an offer of admission to HLS, you should consider
staying on the wait list.
[...]
We ask that you not include your name on the wait list if you doubt that you would or could accept an offer
of admission to HLS – doing so could delay the admission of another candidate.
I am 100% sure that I would not attend HLS if admitted. Won't ride it; NYU, here I come.

Good point. Admitted students dont you think its insulting they even maintain a WL? Its as if they don't trust you. You're probably better off with the money at CCN.

I was tempted to say until May 2012 so I can put my transfer app in if not admitted by then. :)

Well my cycle is over, I will likely be at Columbia in the Fall. I'm going to go back into the shadows and just lurk around on this "Harvard 2011 Applicants" thread. Goodbye people.

WL as well. Judging by how many people here got one, I'm guessing the chances of getting off are slim. I'm pretty sure I'll just decline and go to Columbia

Yea, I agree with this general sentiment. No one is going to get in, so everyone should withdraw!

I do not think that I will be able to fit a student visa application from a predominantly Muslim country in the time after a possible admission offer over the summer, therefore I am withdrawing from the waitlist, good luck to you all :)

EDIT: I will be reapplying in September, though.

nobody. it's going to be a huge waitlist and we are in exactly the same position as before - ie, little to no chance of getting in. i expected them to weed the list at least a little bit - even if i got weeded too, at least here would be closure!

FYI, I just pulled all the wait list data off LSN from last year:

149 reported wait lists:
20 Rejected
16 Admitted
77 No update indicated
36 Withdrew

Of those admitted, 4 were above both medians, 1 was below both medians and non-URM, 2 were URM and below both medians, and the other 9 were above one median but below the other; moreover, 8 were admitted in May, 4 in June, 1 in July, 1 in August, and 2 had no date reported (though the date of the last update to the Harvard field for both seems to indicate it was probably in August).

Let the wailing and gnashing of teeth begin!

Some of the lurkers haven't. Maybe we're just afraid to post about it, while we watch our inbox for the feared rejection.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
