UR since 11/19 and no JR1...will give it until Christmas and figure it's a lost cause.

I've been UR since 10/13 and I still have hope for a JR1. I may be crazy for having it, but I have it nonetheless.prt86a wrote:Any UR 11/22 people still holding out hope for JR1?

This school should really start dinging people so I see if I am in the first batch or not. This stress is unhealthy.

Re: Harvard 2011 Applicants
Hey guys--
Wondering if this rather odd situation has happened to anyone else. I submitted end of October, went under review Nov 2nd. Then, went complete Nov 10th- both via email and on status checker. Since then, I haven't checked back-- I haven't received a JR1 and since I'm a pretty borderline candidate (reverse-splitter by Harvard standards). I just assumed I'd been dinged or WLed. I just checked back tonight out of resigned curiosity and my status checker now reads Under Review 11/2 again.
Any thoughts?

I never went complete via status checker, only by email. I believe everyone else had the same thing as me. Perhaps it was a mistake on their part which they later fixed?degibogen214 wrote:Hey guys--

So no JR1s today huh? Have they been following any specific pattern lately?

I have a rather stupid question. Obviously, there are numbers that no matter who you are, you can't get into HYS. Where is the cut-off?? At what point numerically are you wasting your money?
Wondering if I should have taken a trip with my almost $300. ...sigh... probably

Law school numbers.com is actually really helpful for this! You can see what the lowest gpa/lsat were that got accepted last cycle. It always gives me hope!

from last cycle, i think 3.7 was the soft floor; 3.6 was the hard floordorriedoodle wrote:I have a rather stupid question. Obviously, there are numbers that no matter who you are, you can't get into HYS. Where is the cut-off?? At what point numerically are you wasting your money?

short of being a diamond in the rough or URM, sub-3.6's didnt get straight INs regardless of the LSAT score. 3.7's + high LSAT were rare, but 3.6 or lower is where i personally would no longer have a 'what if' thought in my head...short of 3.6 and 180, where my chances would still be pretty bad but maybe worth an app lol.

Re: Harvard 2011 Applicants
I was Under Review since 11/16 but got an email of completion on 11/24.
Regardless, my status has not at all changed and I never got JR's so... does this mean I'm pretty hopeless for Harvard?
I don't think it would take them this long to send out a JR to me if they like me.. no? ahhhhh

Yale accepted a 3.38 last year
3.6 is certainly not Harvard's floor
especially for URMs or non-traditionals or both +high LSAT.... this may sound biased, but the Yale information is legitimate, and, as such, I believe it follows that you're mistaken.
They already accepted a 165, 3.5 URM this year...
