Average age for most of the T14 is mid-20s.

Fair enough, though I'd still hazard that SO's are not a deciding factor the majority.

I'm pretty sure the average law student is more likely to be a naive undergrad than someone a few years older with a SO.

I think the whole "everyone should live in a city at one point in their life" is kinda bs as well.

well, fine. I think I should live in a city at one point in my life :D

Why do you have to be so negative?

Agreed - Make that two people who think they should live in a city at some point in their lives! But either way, I think location is INCREDIBLY important, especially considering how many people end up settling permanently in the area where they attend school. It's really not a "naive" or "bs" factor at all

Uhhh, I doubt most of the students at Cornell, UVa, UMich, and Duke permanently settle in the vicinity of their school.

There is nothing wrong with wanting to live in a city. I just think that the whole "well everyone should do it at least once in their life" mentality and people who want to live in a city just because of that thought are dumb.

I did rescue one from the cold, wet gutters of Davis, CA. Does that count?

so... you don't want to live in a city.

Let's see how long we can get a string about whether or not it's idiotic to live in a city (on a thread for a school in a city) going! It's distracting me from checking the ASW every minute.

constant miscommunication and misinterpretation is how you keep one of these threads going.

*ahem*

how is that NOT what you meant? You called wanting to live in a city dumb!

see where I'm going with this? :)

One of the best things about DC is that it's not really a big city, at least not like NYC, LA or Chicago. There's tons of green space, you randomly run into people you know all the time, and you can actually see the sky because the buildings aren't very tall. I do think everyone should live in DC at some point. It's awesome.

Am I deeply paranoid for wondering whether this isn't some sort of horrible technical glitch?

However, the e-mail hasn't hit my email box yet. Is it safe to assume I am in. I am excited like a kid at Christmas!

Also 12/20 updated today, from 12/6. I think it's my 3rd. Definitely the first update after my interview.
The suspense might actually kill me.

Do non-acceptances go out on days other than Monday?

This is true, it's not a highrise city like NYC, Chicago, SF, etc, though I do feel like big city is still an appropriate moniker for DC. But I can see arguments both ways.
