The (fuzzy) math there confuses me too.

Same here. It appears that theyre going to take more full time students to fill the void left by reducing the part time class. And then they will create another day time section so that the overall section size for day time students will decrease even though they are adding day time students. I dont know. Thats what I got from it. I didnt do any math though.

3. Changes to the Evening and Day Divisions. As you probably know, Georgetown Law already boasts the #1 Evening Program in the Country. This week, faculty approved a proposal to make the Evening Program even stronger. Under the proposal, next year’s §7 will go from about 130 students (currently the largest of the sections) to about 80, and its small sections will also decrease in size from about 33 to 27 students per. To make the program more attractive to working students, the course load will also decrease from 24.0 credits to 20.0., and Friday classes will be eliminated for 1Es. Day sections will also be getting smaller next year, as the faculty approved a measure to add a new §5 to the current four day sections. Thus, each section will drop from about 115/120 students to around 100 students. The overall size of next year’s Day and Evening sections combined won’t change (only the distribution) and these changes won’t affect any current students. To get the full text of the proposal, click here.

Is it fair to assume this will bring up the LSAT/GPA for PT admits? Coincidence that next year USNWR rankings take PT numbers into consideration??

There's no reason to assume this. You were on a different update pattern from the 11/29s who got letters yesterday and today. Lots of people have had patterns of five updates before receiving the admission letter; that could be the situation you're in. Good luck :)

In! :D I'm happy I never tried checking the admitted students site - it was a good surprise to get the letter in the mail. Very nice note at the bottom that showed they actually read my personal statement. I'm feeling far less cynical about the whole admissions process. Submitted 11/3, complete dates 11/9 --> 11/11 --> 11/18 --> 11/24 --> 11/29.

please excuse my naiveté with GULC lingo, what does "application complete" mean to them? It seems like it means something else.

Also

The school may be limiting the number of part-time to full-time transfers.

"We would propose allowing transfers only for demonstrated significant changed circumstances. This provides a standard that is exacting enough to stem the over 50% transfer requests we currently experience but flexible enough to allow for approval of some transfers."

For those wondering: According to last year's interviewee thread, there is about 7% chance of rejection, 39% preferred WL, 36% admissions for those who interview.

Dunno if that's true or not.

I'm super curious about the interviews-how much of a boost it gives the applicant (if it went well). From what I read on TLS, seems like most end up being deferred or WL, better than a ding but still =/

What is deferral if you're RD? I've heard mostly that you're close to 50% likely in if you get interviewed.

FWIW In the personal note from Dean Corblatt, he said he heard wonderful things from my interviewer. I would think that a good interview wouldnt give you a bump, but a bad one would def. land you a rejection or waitlist.

You can pm me if you have questions about the interview

The bolded confuses me...

Currently: 4 day sections x 115-120 + 130 evening = 600 per class
Proposed: 5 day sections x 100 + 80 evening = 580 per class

That math is right, but it doesn't validate the claim. Last I checked 600 =/= 580
