I think need aid/grants/whatever are separate and haven't happen yet.tipler4213 wrote:Hmm, but this sounds like it occured before the yellow form. I think something is wrong. I would call admissions about a 12/13 completed. Did you check your spam folders to make sure they didn't send you an email.? I wouldn't let this go.gate11 wrote:I hope not, I submitted in late November and am STILL at completed 12/13 i don't mind waiting as long as i am waiting for good newsbbermud wrote:ArthurDigbySellers wrote:Yeah, still couldn't get onto ASW. 3/16 was only my second Complete date, though, so as long as there are no ding emails I'm happy

I have a feeling that at this point the class is full and they are not giving more acceptances. At this point, they are just sorting through the last batches to see who gets waitlisted and who gets rejected. I hope I am mistaken too.

Re: GULC Waiting Thread
Actually, the case might be that law schools are hoping for better applicants to come along before filling up the entire class. The number of applicants is at a 10 year low: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB1000142 ... 31986.html.georges2 wrote:I have a feeling that at this point the class is full and they are not giving more acceptances. So, here's to wishing that they don't get any more applicants and thus decide to "settle" for people still in limbo. (Come on Georgetown, just marry us cuz no one prettier is gonna come along!)

Ugh, you may be right, but I don't know why they keep updating me. If they're thinking about letting me in with my weak numbers, then where's the interview? If not, why not just reject me or banish me to the regular waitlist? They must see something in me to keep me around, but the lack of an interview is just discouraging.georges2 wrote:I have a feeling that at this point the class is full and they are not giving more acceptances. Can anyone who was rejected give us some feedback?
I am a very borderline candidate, and I have just gone complete for a second time.
How promptly will I receive a rejection e-mail, so I can put this application to rest?

People who were rejected or waitlisted updated several times, in the past. I posted earlier that I believe they are looking for people with higher credentials. GULC posted that they are still taking apps even though the time period to apply had expired. I think they were looking for people with higher stats and perhaps those who got high scores in the Feb LSAT. I don't think it looks good for marginal candidates.

This is helpful to know, although it's not necessarily good news. What about people who were accepted? Did they also update several times?Emma1 wrote:People who were rejected or waitlisted updated several times, in the past. I have similar stats, did you get an interview prior to the priority waitlist?descartesb4thehorse wrote:Hi guys,
I have a wait list/LOCI question. After a lot of back and forth on where I'd be right now, I'm not surprised but disappointed to say that Georgetown is my top choice, and I was waitlisted. I'm 3.4/171. My waitlist is preferred and in the "special group" if that actually means something.
I graduated in 2010 and had a tough time finding a job (I planned this year off) so focused on studying for the LSAT/applying to schools. Now, finally, I have a good gig as a Legal Proofreader/Document Specialist at a company in town. (Good for me, as I'm in a small town where the paralegal jobs are filled with law school grads who couldn't pass the bar.)
I'm going to talk about this in my LOCI and send them an updated resume, but here's my question: I've decided that if I don't get in to GULC 2011, I'm going to probably put off law school for another year and try ED next year. Should I mention this in my LOCI or will that make it seem like ... well, that I should probably have some work experience under my belt, and since I'll be a stronger candidate next year, that they shouldn't admit me? To be honest, this is absolutely last case scenario for me as I'm itching to get to DC, but it definitely seems better than obligating myself to American.
Best of luck to everyone else and any advice is appreciated!
And I personally wouldn't mention that you're ready to forgo a year in order to go to Gtown. The way I see it, it could be taken two ways: 1) oh he/she really wants to go here, let's accept or 2) oh he/she will be there if we want next year, no rush to accept

To me that would be good news for marginal candidates...the fact that they're looking for higher stats doesn't mean they're going to get them. Certainly this development is better than if they had stopped taking apps knowing that they had a ton of applicants with stellar numbers, you know?Emma1 wrote:People who were rejected or waitlisted updated several times, in the past. I agree, I think people with the numbers they are looking for have already applied and been accepted to schools, I would say it helps us if anythingmsridiculous447 wrote:To me that would be good news for marginal candidates...the fact that they're looking for higher stats doesn't mean they're going to get them. I disagree! They have many waitlist candidates with high numbers. All the special preferred waitlist apps seem to have very high numbers and the preferred waitlist has many people with good numbers. GULC reports that they get over 12, 000 apps a year so they can pick and choose quite a bit ( even though they get those who decline for a higher ranked school)

Right, plus they've already started dipping into the special preferred waitlist. It doesn't seem like applicants still waiting on a decision have a very good shot.Emma1 wrote:I disagree! Yes why would they be into the special waitlist now if they had many current apps that they wanted to accept? I would think that some current apps with borderline numbers will get WL,low numbers will get the boot and then they will see how the May deposit date goes. It would be interesting to know how many deposits they already have.

Anyone with a recently updated complete date (3/16, 3/17) get a decision yet one way or the other? I was hoping that yesterday's update might be my last, but still haven't gotten an email or been able to generate a password for the ASW, sigh

Yeah, these are both good points tbh I keep going back and forth. I also feel like if they wanted us they wouldn't have extended the deadline they would have just accepted us.aaaaaah wrote:Right, plus they've already started dipping into the special preferred waitlist.
