GULC Waiting Thread

Post by MillerTime » Tue Oct 05, 2010 2:07 pm

Haven't seen a thread for those of us who applied ED to Georgetown, so I thought I would start one. I sent my app on October 1st, LSAC sent the report on October 4th, and Georgetown sent me my tracker info that same day. Has anyone gone complete yet?

Hah, I wish we were getting our decision today. I meant that a decision will be made within three weeks of today. I think this only applies to Early Decision applicants, as your decision could be made whenever. From the GULC site:

"To receive an expedited Early Decision, applicants must apply through the Early Decision Process. Once an application becomes complete (including application form and fee and personal statement, letter(s) of recommendation, resume, etc.) a decision will be communicated to you within 3 weeks of completion."

Right but here is the odd thing - my application went complete on Wednesday and today my app is updated again to today's date.

Hmm, not sure if that means anything. I'm pretty sure that if a decision is coming, your status will reflect it. For example, it will say, "Decision Rendered" or something along those lines.

I sent my app in on Oct 1 and went complete on Oct 4. I'm guessing they will mail out our decisions on Oct 25th, so we will have to wait a few more days to actually get the decision.

Is anyone under review yet??

I agree. However, there's still a chance that they could come out earlier. It says "within three weeks"... fingers crossed that it's more like one! Not under review yet.. I imagine that will occur early next week.

This whole process is making me quite nervous because we don't have any past cycles to compare the dates to. As far as I know, this is the first cycle GULC has done a three week turn-around on ED applicants..

I know. I'm so anxious to hear the results...

I think GULC told the first round of ED applicants - the ones that applied by 12/1 - that they would hear back no later than three weeks after the deadline. Not exactly the same, but you could look at the time frame of applicants who applied on the 12/1 deadline and see when they got their decisions back. Again, I think (I'm not sure) they got their decisions back after the 3 week period.. It's kind of hard to find this stuff with the advanced search tool down..

Not sure if it means anything, but I'm in a similar boat. Went complete on 10/8, updated yesterday to completed 10/12.

I'm RD, and my status just updated to 10/13, so I don't think its just an ED thing. Submitted on 10/1 btw

I went ahead and turned this into a general GULC waiting thread. No point in having two!

For what it's worth, I recently attended an information session and Dean Cornblatt said they would probably start reviewing files next week (10/18). He didn't specify whether these were early or regular decision files. Either way, they'll start reviewing files very soon.
