In addition, 25th percentile means that 25% (a whole quarter) of LSAT scores are below that. No need to get all judgmental on people!

People are pretty quick to put others down on TLS. Everybody's anxious and people probably haven't heard back yet, or didn't get the response they wanted and they're looking for ways to make themselves feel better. I, for one, would never have thought you had zero chance with those stats. Even if I did, though, there's no reason to tell you I think that except to make you feel worse and make me feel better. No excuse for that.FutureInLaw wrote:Thanks...it's my first. It feels good
Especially since some people on this board said it wouldn't happen with my stats Confirmed my belief that some people on this board are a bit too pessimistic.
Congrats on the acceptance! Do you want to go to GULC?

I didn't apply to any schools I wouldn't go to, so I absolutely would love to go to Georgetown for their PI program. I'd be thrilled to live in DC.
But we'll see how the rest of the cycle shakes out. This is the first decision I've received.
Good luck to the rest!

Idk if this has been asked or if it's a stupid question.....but can you email them to REQUEST an interview or something? Would that be annoying or would it show initiative and drive to go there? Or will they just not even respond lol

Re: GULC Waiting Thread
I think the consensus has been (somebody correct me if i'm wrong) they only ask to interview you if you're (1) a g-town UG, or (2) they feel like they "need" to, like you're someone they're considering admitting but they're on the fence. For the latter (like myself) i'm not so sure it's a good thing... yeah, i COULD nail the interview and change their minds about me, but I'm not so sure how much I'm going to be able to let my inner law student shine in a room with 14 other applicants when i'm nervous as can be.Gotti wrote:Idk if this has been asked or if it's a stupid question.....but can you email them to REQUEST an interview or something? I would definitely NOT do this, I think it would be seen as disrespecting their process. They already know you want to go there, because you applied. I think this would be seen as too pushy.Gotti wrote:Idk if this has been asked or if it's a stupid question.....but can you email them to REQUEST an interview or something? URMs are only Mexicans, Puerto Ricans, African Americans and Native Americans. I don't think those make up 25% of every class.bk187 wrote:UnderEvrydyhonestliar wrote:In addition, 25th percentile means that 25% (a whole quarter) of LSAT scores are below that. No need to get all judgmental on people!

well, sorry if I misinterpreted. It felt implied that he meant the people coming in the bottom 25th percentile of the class are URMs. I don't know why I bothered replying to his comment anyway.eskimo wrote:bk didn't say they did.xtine wrote:URMs are only Mexicans, Puerto Ricans, African Americans and Native Americans. Re: GULC Waiting Thread
So I can spell it out, 25th percentile means that 25% of matriculants are at or below that number. Considering that GULC's 25th is 168, this means that these people are, for the most part, URM's and reverse splitters. What it means for the reverse splitters is that there are probably a lot of 168's and very few less than that who are not URM's. Meaning that the bulk of the bottom 25% of LSATs are either URM's (probably anywhere from 10-20% of total matriculants) and people with 168's and sky high GPA's make up the rest.xtine wrote:well, sorry if I misinterpreted. Still stuck at 12/3, submitted around 11/15. I'm kind of worried I haven't had any movement or an interview request. I'm 170/3.5X

I'm also stuck at 12/13. Hoping to see some movement pretty soon also. I'm starting to get a little obsessive checking my status checker every hour or so.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
