I think this makes sense. Mine was UR since 11.23 and nothing happened ever since.
I think I might be dinged or WL....

paulinaporizkova wrote:I did a bit of LSN researching on Duke, and it seems like the brunt of accepted folks get in after about a week of being under review, sometimes more like 2 or 3 days, even if they applied September 1st. The people who get WL or dinged have to wait until Jan-March to get their news. Don't get me wrong, there are some exceptions, but anyone who is interested should check it out because it's pretty interesting. I've never heard of a school with such a fast turnaround on acceptances.

I haven't looked at this threat in a while, but seeing everyone discuss this has made me wonder, was I the only one accepted in the two weeks before x-mas?

LSN has about 15 people people accepted between December 10 and 24, which doesn't include me b/c I don't list my decision date. So Duke was active then, as far as I can tell with two mins of research.

I'm not giving up, even though I went UR in late November. Doesn't seem like a lot of non PT people have gotten in.

Duke Law News, Jan. 4, 2011

Sarah Campbell ’09 bound for Supreme Court Clerkship in July ’11.

http://www.law.duke.edu/news/story?id=5945&u=11

Campbell is currently a litigator at Williams & Connolly in Washington, D.C. Campbell previously served as clerk for Judge William H. Pryor Jr. on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit.

Campbell is the second Duke Law graduate Alito has selected as a clerk; Garrick Sevilla ’07 is clerking for him in the current term. Amy Mason Saharia ’05 is currently a clerk for Justice Sonia Sotomayor and Allison Jones ’07 clerks for Justice Clarence Thomas.

Justice Alito has been teaching a short course on constitutional interpretation at Duke Law School for the past two years.

Campbell’s comments on Duke Law: “I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the Law School,” she added. “My peers were incredibly bright and down-to-earth, and my professors created a caring environment that made it easy for students to excel.”

"Under Review" as of 12/20. My application is for summer admission, though, I wonder how that affects the time frame.

Someone with similar stats (maybe a little worse, actually) was accepted in Round I. I imagine this late in the cycle your fate will depend largely upon how their class is shaping up. You definitely have a fighting chance, though.

...And in other news, I was returned to review today after sending in my fall grades and "Why Duke" essay. Hopefully they still see me as a Round I ED (OG), and hopefully a decision comes soon.

Really? Congrats!

Wondering why they take people off PR before looking at the rest of the files.

I'm complete as of 12/20. No change yet, but now I'll be obsessively checking :)

Not sure, they did say they are looking at PRs already. Maybe the pool isn't as good as they had expected? Sent a LOCI last week of December.

UR 1/10, does Duke have a consistent time frame after that status update?

I don't think that they really update. Mine hasn't moved since I went UR 11/15
