I know this is probably a silly question, but "Complete, ready for review" would mean that I'm not under review yet? Just wondering about the language.

I don't feel very positive about our chances. I really hope they don't hold until 4/15 then send a PR/WL email.
Not likin mine too much, but I think you're good to go
I really don't think they've done much with RD apps yet. There have been a few, but they all appear to be super early applicants. Hold tight, it shouldn't be too much longer.

Right. There is actually a "file under review" status. Next step.

Don't be so sure, I am stuck at almost 10 weeks. You may get a speedy trip through the review. Good luck!

eh, I'm stuck at UR 11/8, with a guaranteed decision by 12/31. I wouldn't put too much stock in dates and waiting times as it seems the vast majority of (non-PT) applicants are stuck in review limbo.

Why Duke? Just curious. It doesn't seem to be a particularly popular ED choice for splitters.

eh, lots of reasons: small class size, personal affinity towards the south/southern schools, great weather, excellent faculty, and solid job prospects. I've also been able to talk to numerous individuals associated with Duke and Duke Law (the school kinda runs in the family, so that helps), and it really seems like a place that I would fit in and be happy.

I know a lot of those with similar numbers choose to ED to UVA or Michigan. I thought about it, but I just had some reservations with these schools that I didn't have with Duke. For UVA, the general atmosphere and large class size were turn-offs. For Michigan, it was the class size and cold weather. Penn is definitely my favorite out of MVP, but it still falls short to Duke.

...Of course, I would consider myself extremely fortunate to attend any of the aforementioned schools. And while M and V both had a few things I wasn't crazy about, they have plenty of great qualities as well. If Duke doesn't work out, I'll think long and hard about switching my UVA app to ED.

But we'll see what happens. Duke isn't generally splitter-friendly but, based on last cycle, my 3.4 might be just enough to squeeze in.

Still on 11/8. It seems like last cycle that the bulk of RD decisions come in January. Seriously, Duke: unimpressed.

Huh, I guess only ED applicants are getting the status update?

In any case, I'm now in freak-out mode. Just got an e-mail from "law.admissions" and I almost collapsed. It was from Valpo, asking me (again) to apply. Fuckin' A.

And I'm supposed to be studying for my final tomorrow. Ha.

Got a buddy that ED'd to Duke and doesn't really have the numbers for it (but does have some connections so maybe?), his status date updated yesterday too.
