Gem, I have a friend who uses it all the time - remind me and I'll ask him.
We have a Trader Joe's on 72nd and Broadway and a ton of options as you go down 9th Avenue. A TON.
MrSoOoFly is notorious for his massive study sessions. Also, it's almost exam time and lots of us were working overtime today so that we'd have some free time for family, over the weekend.
(Don't worry. We're not crazy.)
Happy Peaster, all!

What? I am not sure I understand. There is a whole foods in the Time Warner Center on 59th and Columbus. Also, there is the Trader Joes on 72nd, and there is the Fairway also in the 70s, both of which are great alternatives. And for all you Whole Foods haters, I make all of my own food from scratch and WF tends to be cheaper than when I shop elsewhere (not including Fairway which is too damned far away from where I live).

Eh, I've worked out at Planet Fitness a number of times. The club I used didn't really fit the vibe of those commercials. People were grunting and slamming weights just like at other gyms. The only time they ever gave me lip was when I would put weights on the ends of a lat bar (the kind used for cable pulldowns). And, quite frankly, I can't blame them because that is legitimately dangerous to do. But, hey, when there are no barbells people gotta improvise

Ok, thanks for letting me know about the Whole Foods and Trader Joes!
I don't know that area of the city too much, so this is much appreciated!
Nygrrrl, when should I remind you? After finals, I'm guessing?

Since Fordham has been closed since my acceptance and I never received log in info for the accepted student site could someone give a run down of what information Fordham needs with the financial forms?
I just want to be able to have all of my stuff in order and be able to talk to the financial aid office as soon as they re-open on Tuesday. Thanks

Google "Fordham Law Admitted"- the site should be pretty obvious.
ID is your LSAC # and password is the same one you used to get into your status checker.

I don't expect people to get into specifics, but those of you that received need-based aid do you consider your parents to be well off? I just want an idea of what I can expect. My parents aren't rich and but they aren't hurting either. I have siblings in college and they my parents have fairly typical bills to pay and cannot afford to give me any money for school, but I am worried that I won't get any need based aid. Can anyone comment on this?

My 'rents are pretty strapped with cash. FAFSA EFC was almost nothing. I uhhh barely got any need-based aid. 10k scholly and 2,900 grant money. Which leads me to a question I wanted to ask future Fordham 1l's: if anyone is willing to share how much loan money they plan on taking out on a per year basis I would like. My debt load would be pretty steep and I've received very mixed reactions about whether or not to attend Fordham.

yup i'm interested in ^^ too. I'll be living with my bf so rent won't be ridiculous like 1,700/month they assume in their COA. It'll probably be $700-800. I want to know how much to take out. Preferably not the entire $72k

All I pray is that the job market will look better for lawyers and for Fordham by the time we graduate in 2014. *crosses fingers*

To paraphrase something one of the professors at the ASD I went to said: if in 2014 the economy is still as bad as it is now, this country has bigger problems than you not being able to repay your student loan.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
