I sent my app in on Jan 23rd and was WL on April 4th also. Don't give up hope -- I'm sure more movement is to come.metallaura wrote:Just wondering when you sent your app in and when you were waitlisted. I sent my app in on Jan 11th and was WL on April 4th. I see a few of you here with similar #s getting off the WL so I was just wondering if they're doing it on a rolling basis or what. I'm 160/3.78 WI resident and sent a really good LOCI so I'm becoming nervous/impatient. hahakristyk wrote:Yes, said I'd be hearing more in the next few days.EstboundNDwn wrote:Congrats! Did you receive an e-mail similar to the others?kristyk wrote:Just got out the waitlist! 160/3.75, out-of-stater
SOOOO pumped right now.
Hope others receive some good news today as well.
I found some decent-sized efficiencies around Madison, but my whole thing is having a space where I can get away for a little bit. Chances are, my desk will be a cluttered war-zone of 1L glory. But if I need to get away for 2 hours to read a romance novel (not that I do that), I'd like to be able to have a nice living area to do that in. There are decent one-bedrooms available. Keep your eyes open.LilyGirl wrote:I am thinking about living in an efficiency because it is $400 a month cheaper. Is that a bad idea? If anyone had ever lived in one or known someone who has please give me some insight.
It seems like July would be the time when a reasonable person would give up hope.estrangedstudent wrote:It seems like there has been a lot of waitlist activity as of late. I am one of the people still (im)patiently waiting. When does activity begin to slow down? Would it be wise to call the admissions office to ask where I stand on the waitlist?
I'm in the same boat, but I've heard from a couple of people about acceptances being sent the day before school started in fall! That's insane. Most people have to decline because they're all set to go somewhere else. The rental market is pretty tight near the school I chose so I will have to go up no later than mid June to put a deposit on an apartment. :/ sigh.estrangedstudent wrote:It seems like there has been a lot of waitlist activity as of late. Ha, sounds almost exactly like my LOCI. Hopefully that's the magic forumlahuttom84 wrote:metallaura wrote:JW, what kind of LOCI did you write?huttom84 wrote:Off the waitlist this morning! 3.78/155 WI resident. WOW!
Nothing too special, just mentioned that UW was far and away my first choice, and that i would for sure attend if admitted. mentioned their law in action program and other specifics about the school that i liked so they knew that i wasnt just sending out the same basic LOCI to all the schools i was waitlisted at. I also emailed the acting dean mentioning my desire to go there and requested to meet with her (never replied, but i assume it helped some)

IIRC, the Madison Express greyhound station is on campus at the student union.chalhou1 wrote:I just got accepted off the waitlist this past weekend and now I'm trying to set up a visit. Plane tickets are $800 for some reason so I'm thinking of taking a greyhound but I'm wondering does anyone know what area I should arrive at to be near everything?
Bless your heartkristyk wrote:I'm withdrawing today. Good luck to anyone out there still on the WL.
