Um, what?brooksrun wrote:I applied January 4th and hadn't heard anything except for my free iTunes download, so I knew they'd received it. Emailed them Monday and they said they would "resend" my info. I think they must have misplaced/lost/ignored some applications, because when I finally got my info today it appeared as if I'd just sent my application in yesterday according to their dates. I know they get tons of applications every day, but I can't help but be a bit cranky about their organization or lack thereof.
how long after acceptance did you get it? I'm waiting on my packet now.mez06 wrote:Got the complimentary shirt but umm...its a size XL.... lol
If you apply you get a free iTunes gift card. You should have gotten a code in your email if you applied.leidice wrote:Um, what?

I know this isn't terribly helpful, but based on something someone else said earlier in this thread, I think the people that had the most success with this attended the ASD and asked afterwards. I think it's likely this is the case because at least with the scholarship I received, it was hinted that it was strongly contingent on me attending the ASD 1/21. I got the email saying I received it on 1/24.bergg007 wrote:bergg007 wrote:How is Bama about waiving the top 40% stipulation on their scholarships? I purposefully waited until after ASW to try to negotiate my stipulations. I'm going to ask soon, because now I have three other offers in hand with much lower stipulations, but also because since I went to ASW they know I'm at least somewhat serious about considering their school.tarakit wrote:I think it was part of the fee waiver they gave out, so if you didn't get the fee waiver, you probably didn't get the iTunes.

FWIW, I think top 40% is a pretty reasonable stipulation. My other two full rides had ridiculous expectations of top 25% and 10%, which I think is borderline predatory. That being said, if I could negotiate the removal of it, I'd give it a shot.bergg007 wrote:

Top 40% is actually my most strict stipulation. One scholarship has none at all, one is a 3.0 and one is a 2.0. There are also other schools that say if you don't make the grades to keep the full scholarship that you can still retain a portion (half or a third or something like that), but there's no such concession made by Alabama, if you are in the top 41% you lose every penny.TommyK wrote:FWIW, I think top 40% is a pretty reasonable stipulation. I emailed them asking if they needed anything else after 3 weeks because I hadn't heard anything except iTunes. Maybe it does mean it's complete, but I'd email them and ask for your login info. It looks like my file wasn't created until I emailed, so they might just need a gentle push.byronmullens wrote:+1bartleby wrote:Wait, the iTunes thing doesn't mean my application is complete? I don't think the iTunes means you're complete, just that your application has been received. I got my iTunes code the day after I submitted and then a separate email about a week later with status checker email (as well as a phone call around the same time letting me know I was complete and asking if I had any questions.brooksrun wrote:I emailed them asking if they needed anything else after 3 weeks because I hadn't heard anything except iTunes.
