I have a 4.0 166, just got into Alabama. Didn't receive any scholarship info which after this I'm guessing I won't be receiving any. A bit of a downer because going into this I thought I would definitely get some at Alabama.

I'll be honest I have virtually no intention of going to Alabama, just hoping this isn't a bad sign for my cycle.

Edit: How long after your phone call did you receive the email? I was contacted three days ago and still have no email.

You won't necessarily get an email. All I got was a phone call and package in the mail.

Just got a call from a blocked number, it was a woman from the Alabama Law admissions office telling me that she had received my application and asking if I had any questions. Kind of awkward because I didn't, but I thanked her profusely.

Finally retrieved my admission package from my permanent address (I forgot this is the only address they requested).

This thing is great! They went all out, even a handwritten postcard from the Dean of the law school.

Plus they have been super nice to me, gone out of their way, etc.

Definitely going to visit and see if its possible to keep them in the running....

Congrats. I can't tell where I am in the process as the status checker isn't too helpful.

Congrats to everyone who has been accepted!

I'm retaking the LSAT tomorrow. It's going to be a long wait for the score!

Holy cow! What a nice admissions office.

Unfortunately, since I decided to retake last week, they won't review my app until they get the Dec. score. Oh well!

Congrats! =) Is UA a possibility for you? I'm from Alabama, although I live in Illinois now. Tuscaloosa is a great city, and UA is a great place!

Absolutely! I'm seriously considering it. The admissions staff have been so nice to me through the whole process so I hope that's an indication of the school environment as a whole (and the $$ helps too). I definitely know I wanna end up living in the south, so it'd be a really good option for me.

To those of you already admitted, how long was it after your phone call that your admit packet arrived? All of my mail is headed to my address at school and I'm planning a trip down there at some point to check for law school mail (it's only about 45 mins from my parents) and wanted to make sure it was likely going to be there so the trip would be worth my while.

Whaaaaaa? I want a tshirt!

Also, my visit was fantastic (went on Friday) - I highly recommend anyone even slightly considering the school to come for a tour!

If you've been admitted I'm sure you will be getting one. It came with a little note saying please consider Bama, happy holidays, etc. I'm excited about visiting in January.

Bama is definitely one of my top choices especially with the scholarship they offered, but I'm also a little worried about the requirement. Top 40% doesn't seem that bad but it makes it more likely than not that you won't keep your scholarship. I think I will try to negotiate the terms later on in the spring when I get some offers at other schools.

This might sound naive, but how hard is it really to stay in the top 40%? I think that sounds totally reasonable.
