I applied early september, This is exactly what drops them down my list. Love everything I have heard about the school but Im extremely poor+risk averse so I would need decent money to attend.

Reporting in!

I'm above 75th %tile GPA w/ 4 years military exp. but won't have a reportable LSAT until the Oct. LSAT results come in - But all of my applications are sent in (11 of 'em!) and just waiting for the LSAT score.

So exciting, and not exciting, at the same time!

I love Berkeley, but yeah, I'm concerned about skyrocketing tuition, crappiness of N. California legal market, crappiness of California's economy. Will have to think long and hard about admission at full price.

Might as well throw my hat in here, applied a couple weeks ago... above median LSAT, ~75 GPA. Berkeley's one of the few schools that could pry me away from the East Coast, here's to hoping.

Know Berkeley puts the most emphasis on GPA out of the T14 schools --- does 3.61/176, 2 yrs work experience stand a shot? Out of state, too.

I can't comment on your numbers, but I think being out-of-state doesn't put you at any disadvantage.

With a 176, couldn't you do better than Boalt? No offense to Boalt, but I'd have a different mindset if my LSAT was more like 176 and less like 168.

With a 3.61, aren't HYS out? Is there really a huge difference between CCN and Berkeley?

Yes, HYS are most likely out (maybe tiny shot at Harvard). Berkeley is generally seen as below CCN, but it may make more sense to go to the former if you want to work in California after graduating.

msch0i!!! how are you? where did you end up? you can pm so we're not clunking up the thread...
I am loving Boalt. The people are great - I've made tons of friends, everyone's really involved, positive, and our mod does heaps of social activities. I'm involved with a great clinic at the juvenile hall. Who thought that would be possible just a short year ago? They have got us busy busy busy. We're already on our 3rd memo, and another one's coming for a class. Boalt doesn't grade the writing or oral advocacy courses (they're P/F) so there's no competition there. Seems like we have a good group of students because we don't have a gunner among us ...and no one would confuse me with a gunner, so it's not me. ;-)

Did you decide to wait another cycle?

I thought they would. I just want to make sure I am not missing materials somehow. You submitted before me so I guess we are still in the same boat - waiting for them to assemble files.

When is the fall break over? I hope they go by the order of submission then most of us will be viewed early. If they have not touched any applications yet, there must be a huge backlog by now.

Ehh just realized I was referring to my own fall break lol. Typically, I dont think UCB even usually accepts applications until October 1 and I believe they began reviews in mid-october.

I remember from reading old threads that Dean Tom doesn't start reading apps until the end of Oct. But things may have changed.

I am going to a law school admissions event tonight where Dean Tom is one of the panelist. According the schedule, there is a Q and A period. I will try to ask when he starts looking at applications and report back if I find anything out.

Dean Tom said they will start looking at applications at the end of October, and the first round of acceptances should go out in December. They will try to notify everyone by the third week in March. The applications are read in the order they are submitted. For people taking the LSAT in December, you can submit the rest of the application now and reserve your spot in the queue.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
