You can deposit and still remain on WLs. So pay the money, prepare to go to Hasting but run out at the drop of a hat if you get off any of the WLs. They usually give you a very short window to answer, so be prepared. If you visit and make a good effort to let them know that you are really serious about attending if called upon, you stand a chance.

Also, Aggie, it's way too soon to be thinking about that because Boalt has got to be drooling all over your GPA/rank.
And, at the same time, being like... "Durrrr, but she can't even do well on the LSAT, so *flush* goes the app" =-[[

Thanks for the encouragement, though. I'd feel a whole helluva lot better if someone in the 20s accepted me.

I feel SO!! much better knowing I can put money in on Hastings and still remain on WLs. Thank BUDDHA/God/Rad Law that it's the case. I thought putting a seat deposit down was like getting accepted by an ED-Binding school... i.e., that's it, you're in.

Awesome... Thanks so much Excellence, Knock & R6. You really made my day there. :D Now, the next part... a school in the top 20 accepting me. D:

@R6 specifically: That's my plan, especially for UCLA. I've made myself a pleasant burr in their behind for over a month and I am going to do it again on my visit :D

You guys are the best.

Aggie I am sure you will get a top 20. A friend at UCLA told me a good chunk of the class is people who were waitlisted! Have faith! He said he was waitlisted went to visit wrote a letter and got in the next day : )

Also, agreed on the bandaid. But as R6 says, preferably Waitlists. Then I can pretend I still have some semblance of control during this nerve wracking process.

This is true at most schools, but I believe Berkeley requires you to withdraw from waitlists if you accept there.

But the deadline is 6/1(or somewhere in June) since you can "tentatively attend" for the first deadline.

I don't know about Hastings' policy so better look it up.

I hope you're right. I really do. I LOVE UCLA and would absolutely adore attending. Their love for veterans makes my love even fonder for them. <3 dreamy.

I am waiting impatiently. Does that translate into impatient hope from you?

Hey all, this is a very interesting thread. I just applied to Berkeley since I took the Dec 2010 LSAT. My stats are 170/3.76 as a neuroscience major. I've done a lot of research over the years and am currently working on an honors thesis. My personal statement discusses why I have decided to make the jump into IP law. Hope I get in so late in the cycle! And congrats to you all on your acceptances!

Good luck! I recently got admitted with a similar GPA and weaker LSAT. Sounds like you have an interesting story, so hopefully the admissions folks at Boalt pick up on that.

I heard Berkeley frowns upon late applicants..

Is that based on when we applied or when we went complete? I applied in October with everything but told them to wait until they received my December LSAT score. So I just went complete last week as a result

This might be a really dumb question, but does anyone know what Berkeley's median index is or what the chances are with regard to indices?
