I wish I could email them and say, "Listen, we both know my GPA is too low for you. Can I just have my $75 back and you don't have to bother reading my personal statement?"

So much for me getting anything done at work today. This whole "on-line status check" and e-mail notification is nonsense. I almost long for the old days of checking the mail box ONCE a day and thinking "well, not going to know anything until tomorow at least." Now a am a neurotic page-refresher.

Oh Berkeley, have mercy! I thought that I would be in the first round of rejections for sure! If you are going to reject me, please do it quickly so that I can stop holding out foolish hope and pull my head out of the clouds!

Second straight time they've rejected me. I guess they really just don't like me there. Maybe I'm not cool/hip enough?

Your stats are jaw-dropping. How can they not? Maybe it's just the LSDAS GPA thing that bugs them? Still.....

I really don't know why...I. wish. I. could. understand. Hehe. Anyway, I'm not too bothered by it, aside from the fact that rejection is always bothersome in any way, shape or form.

I'm just hoping it doesn't mean rejections at H/S/C/N are coming as well. Berkeley seems to be a good bellwether for those schools, but I hope that's not the case here.

I've noticed that having an international GPA has created some weird waitlists/dings. But I know one person who has your numbers exactly (including international GPA) and he got Boalt, so who knows :?.

Berkeley seems to have little rhyme or reason to its admissions decisions. They reject and accept people from all number classes. So yes, I think it does come down to being "cool." I'd almost rather be rejected by Harvard and left to console myself with "hey, what was I thinking even applying with my LSAT score? They can have all the 175+ super nerds they want!" than "Wow, they just don't like me :-("

This is all great fodder for a screed on the "Ding" thread, of course.

Yup, new LSAT score, new PS, 2 new LOR, new addenda. I thought I did all I could to give myself a chance this year. But then, I didn't integrate a Why Berkeley in my PS, so that may have been it?

Or again, maybe I'm just not cool enough :)

I believe Berkeley does have a method to their admissions madness, we just aren't privileged enough to know what that method is :)

Maybe they don't like your WE (since you've been out for a while). I remember reading for us non-trads they have to like what we have chosen and done and how it could relate to the study of law. I did such a great job at linking my previous and future career I think I wrote myself out of many other schools (I am starting to get evidence of this). So maybe not a function of coolness but rather what they like to see in a person's career progression.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
