I expect we'll start getting some CR2 decisions tomorrow afternoon. CR1 started hearing back on Wednesday of the week of the end date, IIRC

+1. I got the message this afternoon. I knew going in it was an extreme reach, but it still stings nonetheless.bigredforlaw wrote:Nope, I was simply in review on 2/9 and never got to CR.Kwax wrote:CR2?bigredforlaw wrote:Rejected via email...good luck to everyone else

Berkeley is about to become a radioactive wasteland. Good thing I got rejected. Happy mutations class of 2014.

Re: Berkeley 2011 applicants
I suppose PP was referring to the new rankings.
However, [taken from Nuts & Boalts] here's the fabled T14 along with the total "score" assigned to each school by USNWR. The score is scaled to the top school (Yale). The number in brackets is the score difference between this year and last. Only Harvard declined relative to Yale. Berkeley, Northwestern, and Georgetown's points stayed the same, and everyone else gained a point or two.
#1 100 Yale
#2 96 [-1] Harvard
#3 94 [+1] Stanford
#4 92 [+1] Columbia
#5 90 [+2] Chicago
#6 89 [+2] NYU
#7 86 [+2] Michigan
#7 86 [+1] UPenn
#9 85 [0] Berkeley
#9 85 [+2] Virginia
#11 83 [+1] Duke
#12 82 [0] Northwestern
#13 80 [+2] Cornell
#14 77 [0] Georgetown DC
It's hard to see this as anything other than statistical noise.

I thought marcellus was referring to the ongoing crisis in Japan but maybe I'm way off.

Wow. I'm quick. Just proof that common sense can really go out the window as a law student. When you debate things all day like whether waving a magic wand at a person believing it will kill them is attempted murder or not, it's no wonder.

Egregious anti-Boalt trolling. We are not ON the fault. We must be, what, 200-300 feet from the fault!?!powerlawyer06 wrote:+1 and Boalt being on the Hayward faultvalengina wrote:I thought marcellus was referring to the ongoing crisis in Japan but maybe I'm way off.

Re: Berkeley 2011 applicants
there's no CR3, right? If not, shouldn't the waitlist be complete then? I seem to understand it as the waitlist being only a product of CR and not Dean Tom.

Boalt is the couple of buildings in the left/middle of the bottom of the picture. The line through the middle is the Hayward fault.

When I bought my condo, we got a disclosure that showed what areas were an earthquake zone, and the whole map was marked. But it is not really a big deal. You buy an emergency kit then forget about it.

Re: Berkeley 2011 applicants
Yeah, I remember signing my lease in Berkeley last year and putting my initials on a form saying "I understand that this building will probably fall down if there is an earthquake." The state of preparedness on campus makes me worried too.sarahh wrote:When I bought my condo, we got a disclosure that showed what areas were an earthquake zone, and the whole map was marked.
