Berkeley 2011 applicants
I guess not much is going to happen for the next couple months, doesn't look like Berkeley is one of the quicker T14 schools.
I applied mid September, 75th+ LSAT/sub-25th GPA, so I'm not too confident. But UCB is my only semi-realistic dream school, so I'll be neurotically checking the status checker until I get waitlisted/rejected in February I guess.
Anyone else applied yet?

wait, for some reasons I though Berkeley does not "officially" accept application until oct 1st. Did you already have the status checker from Berkeley?

Yeah, I got one. Maybe you're thinking of Georgetown, I'm pretty sure that's not available until Oct 1st.tbldc2009 wrote:wait, for some reasons I though Berkeley does not "officially" accept application until oct 1st. Did you already have the status checker from Berkeley?

I'll be applying here, but Berk is my pipe dream...

I got one too, but it says "received" after a week. So maybe they don't really start building the files until 10/1, like Penn.suspicious android wrote:Yeah, I got one. Well look like we are at least 8 weeks from the first decisions, you are not going to be behind. I think as long as we go complete before the Oct. LSAT we will be among the first wave reviewed. Considering there are still apps not up on LSAC, I think we are way ahead of the game. I do want to get the rest of my apps done by next monday.tbldc2009 wrote: I hope you are right, so I am not too behind.

Change the name of your thread - it should be the year you graduate (class of 2014) and not the year you apply. Just a TLS pet peeve of mine that was driving my type-A self insane.
Good luck to everyone and if you have any Berkeley questions, feel free to ask us on the 2012 thread - we're all 2Ls who are done with or are wrapping up recruiting, and we need a distraction from course work.

Re: Berkeley 2011 applicaants
I spent a good 45 seconds thinking about this (a lot of time for a guy with lightning fast cognitive abilities). I figured Berekeley 2014 would be for admitted students. This thread is for applicants for the 2010-2011 cycle, but I didn't like the look of 2010-2011. So... yeah, I just kinda went with 2011.IzziesGal wrote:Change the name of your thread - it should be the year you graduate (class of 2014) and not the year you apply. But in the spirit of community, if 5 people in a row ask me to change it to something, I will, no matter what it is they ask for.

Re: Berkeley 2011 applicaants
One vote for NOT changing it. We are seeking admission to Berkeley for Fall 2011. Since Fall entrance is the only one, 2011 is appropriate. It would be wrong to say "class of" 2011, but that's not the case.suspicious android wrote: But in the spirit of community, if 5 people in a row ask me to change it to something, I will, no matter what it is they ask for.

GPA above median but below 75th, LSAT slightly below 25th
expecting my rejection sometime after the new year! good luck everybody.

Second this. I love to be part of the "class of 2014" thread, but until I receive the official acceptance letter, "2011 applicants" thread sounds more appropriate.

I know this is typical, but what do you think after two years being there?

GPA above 75%, LSAT right below 25%.
Probably wasted my money, but gave it a shot

Re: Berkeley 2011 applicants
Applied yesterday! I got tired of waiting for my second recommender, so I broke down and sent off apps to Berkeley and NYU with only one LOR. Probably not the most prudent decision, but damn it feels good to have applications in.
Good luck everyone!

Dean Tom likes early applicants - and October's still early.

Re: Berkeley 2011 applicants
Do you guys think I should update my resume if I started a new EC (doing work for my grad school/program) since I applied? Does Berk like these sort of things? My resume is already 2 pages long, but this is school related...

Re: Berkeley 2011 applicants
If the EC sounds impressive and is school-related, you should update. However, I will also suggest to edit, so your resume is at 2-page length.r6_philly wrote:Do you guys think I should update my resume if I started a new EC (doing work for my grad school/program) since I applied? Re: Berkeley 2011 applicants
I already edited since I haven't applied to all the schools yet, I just didn't know if it made enough difference to warrant an update. I will probably send it anyway. I guess it sounds pretty impressive. Thanks!tbldc2009 wrote:If the EC sounds impressive and is school-related, you should update. I am in the same boat. Based on LSN, I think there is some hope.suspicious android wrote:

I would have 75/75 but unfortunately I found out the hard way that LSAC doesn't round up. So instead of 3.92 I am short .01. The 2 extra A's I took meant nothing
