I've heard Shadyside is a good place to live. Lots of law and grad students and close to campus

If you go back through this thread there's some discussion about the best neighborhoods for law students. Generally, if you want a relatively quiet place but is still close to campus and with some entertainment/dining options, Shadyside and Squirrel Hill are going to be the best choices. Oakland is overpriced and overrun with undergrads. I do not know one law student living there.

I second Shadyside and Squirrel Hill.

There are some nice apartments in North Oakland, but because of the convenience/demand, they tend to be a bit overpriced as well.

I just wanted to let you know that I've been under review from 12/8 too, so you're not alone!

Under Review myself since 11/8. What I've seen from this thread and LSN so far, even with the limited data, is they've pretty much only taken higher GPA's thus far. For example, lowest on LSN so far is 3.3. For what its worth, I'm hoping that January they unleash the floodgates on the acceptances.

I've been at application received since 12/1. I'm over the 75th for LSAT and GPA and haven't heard a peep.

I can confirm this too. Been in review since 12/8; nothing since then.

Ron Mexico, from my section, lives in Oakland, but he lives with an undergrad. And he's Ron Mexico... so I wouldn't recommend it.

Also, BarbellDreams is correct. I am about as non-URM as it gets.

My status never went to "complete" exactly. Basically it was like this:

9/13: Application Received
12/7: Under Review
1/6: Accepted

Anybody else in the first batch of RD admits still waiting for their decision letter. Mailings said it was sent 12/13 but I think mine got lost in the mail while it was forwarded from school to home during break.

DON'T!!!!

I have a friend in my section who lives there. She ordered a Macbook Pro, and they "lost" it when it was delivered. Lo and behold, when she threatened legal action, it was magically "found". Washington Plaza is super overpriced and not in a great area. Craigslist is the way to go.

Well that's certainly disheartening.

Downtown Pittsburgh sucks anyway. I'd recommend looking for places in the East End (for convenience/quality of life). If you don't mind a little bit of a commute, you can look at the Eastern suburbs as well. There are some great deals to be had.

Just got my retake score and it is a 167. I applied with a 160 so Pitt is now probably off my list.

Good luck guys!

So, you're not even going to bother with Pitt?
