I think they email it to you or something. I did it for UG but I haven't received any emails from Pitt

You go on studentloans.gov and sign in and then do Entrance Counseling and fill out an MPN for Stafford loans and then do the same thing for GradPlus. I have done both the counseling and filling out my MPNs for both. Instructions are on Pitt's website: --LinkRemoved--

@ bedsloe- why he resign? whos taking the deans place?
@Gin- they didnt send anything out. I just was looking around and realized the date was only june first- and did it before i forgot about it. Meme will most likely send out a step by step guide for how to confirm your loans soon ( i emailed her about it and to double check that I was looking at the right thing- which i was)

Email said Crossley wants to teach and do research. She is staying at the school, just not as the dean. Not sure who is taking over in 2012.

To save money on a search, they're just appointing me as the new dean. My first order of business will be to expel Bedsole and change Barbell's schedule to match that of my section's gunners so he can see the horrors I experienced this year.
In reality though, I believe they'll be starting the search soon. A thorough search will take at a minimum around 8 months.

I am failing out this semester. Figured it'd save you some time.

Has everyone found apartments for next year? I have been having some difficulty with my search and feel far behind. Most places seem not to be renting for August quite yet.

I don't think you're that behind, specially since we can't start renting process until the end of June.
Right now I'm between bayard manor and king edwards but it might (and probably will) change in a few weeks (anyone have any experience with sterlin land?).

I just signed a lease for a Regent Square apartment through Regent Square Rentals. They have a lot of places for August. I think if you're looking to live on the east side of Pittsburgh (I.e. Shadyside, Squirrel Hill, Regent Square, etc.) a lot of places will let you hold the place with a deposit until August because they know that a good portion of their renters are Pitt students...

There are plenty of apartments open now and many will open up closer to June since some landlords only request June notices for whether the previous tenants will be renewing or not. Outside of Walnut Capital I highly recommend Forbes Management as well.

All you incoming 1L's are in luck, the director of career services just resigned. Whoever replaces him next year absolutely cannot be any worse for you guys than he was for us.

What was his reason for leaving? Too much pressure?

He got a free year of salary without getting anyone any jobs and was worried that the school would eventually catch on and sue for fraud so he cut his losses.

if this person is Don Rieley- then I am very glad. He seemed like he couldnt be bothered, and he was pretty rude to me and another student when we went to him for some basic career information when I visited. Almost tipped the scale away from Pitt.
