Got my status checker too. Visited yesterday and loved it! Everyone was very nice and the new lounge downstairs is supposed to be awesome. Major plus for coffee drinkers: Dunkin Donuts is right across the street and they're putting a Starbucks in the new ground floor student lounge 8)

The two ladies who did the admissions presentation said they're reviewing the first batch of applications now and they will have decisions made by Thanksgiving. She didn't give a mailing date though.

You're within an LSAT point or 2 of median. Your GPA is pretty good. I'd say apply. A strong PS and some good recs may push you through....
Good Luck!!!

We are almost number twins and I applied ED to Pitt and am hoping for the best. I have some other circumstances/addenda that were added, but really you should have a decent shot.

It's something the school's trying to expand.

That said, don't choose a school based on specialty rankings/course offerings. Think of it more like an additional perk.

i want to be in western NY, or PA. If its within 6 hours drive from lake ontario, i will be forever happy. Im applying to all schools that im in the running for, and going to visit them soon. I am just very interested in this area right now, but im fully aware that i may change my mind a lot in school. The only thing I am sure of, other than wanting to be a lawyer is living in the region.

Remember a post saying that someone contacted the office and they said the first batch of decisions will be out before Thanksgiving. You guys think it'll be sometime this week? I've been under review since 11/9 and it would be nice to know my decision soon.

Those of you non-ED candidates who are in review early may, in fact, hear back by the end of the week.

I got in with slightly lower numbers. As long as your PS and you dont wait any longer to apply I'd say you're safe.

thanks for the pat on the back.

I know I wont get into all of my schools that I applied, ( although I only applied to schools where I was above median at either LSAT or GPA, and at least above teh 25% for both) but getting denied is such a confidence drainer, especially this early in the cycle.

Speaking from experience, I'd much rather be outright denied early on then waitlisted and denied later.

That said, I wouldn't worry too much about your chances here.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
