Someone said they got some confirmation about a free hotel room several pages back.

As for the people saying they want to go, but need positive news - same here! I want to go! Also, guess what, Pitt? I don't need a hotel room, so you don't need to give me a voucher....I can just drive there in twenty minutes!

Yes, today I got an email saying they'd pay for my hotel on Thursday night.

Hey, we either hear something today (Thursday) or won't until next week. The university is closed on Friday and it is Pitt's spring break right now. I don't know if admissions is working or not.

And Bport, relax, I suspect that they ran out of funding and can't promise you any scholly until more people withdraw and if they admitted you before (I think March 15th) they'd have to give you a scholarship according to the website. This is not to say they won't, but they probably can't promise it now.

THIS- Brockport- I contacted them earlier in the month about this, and that is what they told me. They are out of the scholarship funds ( but only for merit based schollys- not for other kinds which they will look at when putting together the financial aid package)

The School of Law offers scholarship for academic merit to incoming first year students. There is no application necessary for merit scholarships. Admitted students are automatically considered for merit scholarships on the basis of past academic performance as documented in their admissions materials. Students admitted prior to February 1st earning a high LSAT score of 161 or better and an undergraduate cumulative grade point average of 3.4 (on a 4.0 scale) are guaranteed the Dean's Scholarship.
Anyone else notice that this changed from March to February? :-/

My girlfriend was accepted in March and still received that scholly. Its not a hard deadline. Her scholly came like a month after her acceptance though so for the longest time she thought it was at sticker.

Uh...when they changed their website (remember it was different a few months ago?), I SWEAR it said March 15th or something. Maybe some IT guy or something messed it up and they changed it back because the Feb 1st date. It was Feb 1st when I was looking at it six months ago and then I noticed they changed their website and thought, "wow, they changed when you can get merit scholarships to a later date." Weird.

What other acceptances have you gotten so far if you don't mind me asking. Sticker does seem bad to me too but compared to the other schools I've gotten into/ I'm waiting for, the only one that kind of competes is Temple, and Pitt would still be cheaper. (I'm not expecting any sort of scholly from either)

I suspect I'll be withdrawing when I get my mail later today. I've been 90% sure on withdrawing, but I just wanted to have a specific other offer in hand first.

Maine. Even if I had applied to Houston and I could get in, CoA at Maine OOS is only a few thousand higher than at Houston in-state assuming the increase in tuition is proportional everywhere (which it is not). But since TX is facing a massive budget short fall and the only thing the TX gov't is cutting is education, tuition at Houston will sky rocket making in-state probably even higher than Pitt OOS for 1L and in-state for the other 2

right, i think another factor you should look into is what legal market each school can break into. pitt is a regional school, as you probably know from reading this thread, and has access to the legal market in pittsburgh. (and western pa?) i don't know what the legal market is like in maine. in fact, i don't know if you've ever been in maine but i have doubts about employment there and the state economy in general.
