That's actually comforting since it's the end of the business day in Knoxville an I haven't gotten a callenida10 wrote:Not to be a downer, but some people before our "group" had to wait 3 or 4 days before they got their answer. And it is President's Day...

Sounds like were on the same page. My wishful thinking is that they recently got a bunch of withdrawals from people who were previously admitted but have decided on a better school/scholarship whatever and those open spots are going to usEricBerry wrote:That's actually pretty encouraging because we didn't get calls today. I'm actually feeling pretty good about this! Certainly sounds like waitlist is the worst-case scenario. I'd be interested in hearing from other applicants who got the status update today. Changing avatar for good luck.jaymaynard wrote:Sounds like were on the same page. No change for me today.
160/3.2 out of state
I called last week fishing for info and was told that everyone had read my application but no decision was made and that I might expect to hear something within 2 weeks.
Best of luck to those who saw change today! (and everyone else)

Status date changed today. Still in review. My last review date was 1/18. Anybody know of any trends with UT's application process? Should I expect to hear a decision soon?

Applied at the deadline and I'm under review as of 2/21. I'm in-state, UTK UG, 3.26/165 with a strong upward trend in regard to GPA. Hoping for the best...

Called the admin office today. Nice lady on the phone told me even though the date changed to yesterday's date my app is still pending. For whatever that's worth...

I know. I also find it a little odd that many people in the past have received decisions very quickly after a date change, but this "batch" from 2/21 hasn't heard a peep (as far as i know)

Re: Tennessee 2011
For what its worth I had this happen to me earlier in the cycle... I went under review sometime in late November and then had a status change on 1/6. I was so excited because I assumed I would be hearing something but then a day went by, then two, then three and no call. Since then nothing has changed on my status. I'm thinking held or waitlisted but since I haven't heard anything who knows. I hope you all don't fall into my case though. Good luck to you all and I hope you all receive phone calls soon ... By the way anyone else out there with this same predicament from earlier in the cycle??

In looking at LSN, no one with a GPA as high or higher than mine has been rejected and people with lower LSATs than mine have gotten in, so im holding out hope. I just wanna knooooow

I was waitlisted last year with a 160/3.45. I didn't get a call, it said waitlist the next day on the status checker. This year I bumped my LSAT to 161 and got in a month after I sent my app (Nov admission). Best of luck!

The only reason I'm slightly optimistic about avoiding a waitlist is the decrease in apps this year.

If you don't mind me asking, where did you hear that?EricBerry wrote:The only reason I'm slightly optimistic about avoiding a waitlist is the decrease in apps this year.

I think they're referring to the general drop in applications at law schools this year. I don't think any official numbers have come out from LSAC yet, but the estimate is that applications are down ~19%pfarag wrote:If you don't mind me asking, where did you hear that?EricBerry wrote:The only reason I'm slightly optimistic about avoiding a waitlist is the decrease in apps this year.

Yeah I'm talking about the general drop in applications. Also, I'm not sure if they've been doing this in previous years, but the additional essays and word limits probably had an effect on the number of apps at Tennessee.buchy2009 wrote:pfarag wrote:I think they're referring to the general drop in applications at law schools this year. In this morning via phone call. I was on my way to class so I forgot to ask about scholarships; hopefully find out something when the package comes in the mail.

Did your status checker update on 2/21 by chance?wwhooper wrote:In this morning via phone call. I was on my way to class so I forgot to ask about scholarships; hopefully find out something when the package comes in the mail.
