Has anybody gotten an aid letter in their acceptance packet? I didn't, but I assumed that because I barely got in, I shouldn't assume that I'd get any aid.

Sorry if this is a stupid question, I'm new here.

I really want to go to Michigan and would have applied ED but for an inability to do summer start (because of a family obligation). Is this something I should have included in my Why Mich Essay? I'm starting to worry now that I won't get in and I wish I could have done ED.

There's probably nothing that can be done at this point, so I guess I'm just asking for personal curiosity.

I'm pretty sure the first wave of financial aid and scholarship decisions are sent in January for us non-Darrow folks.

I don't see how it could do anything but help to have included it, but it might be a nice tidbit to include if you do get waitlisted in a LOCI.

Did your "mailings" on the website say Dean's Scholarship Letter, dated 12/18?

I still haven't gotten one :(

Mine was mailed 12/7, got it on 12/18 (I think). Sometimes mail takes longer than expected.

I got a Dean's Scholarship letter today but have no mention of it on the admitted students site. Pretty random, but definitely welcome!

It's ok, if you get merit aid you will not get need based aid. I don't know what kind of need based aid they give out, but it may end up better than some of the lower deans'.

Speaking of this, glanced around the Admissions Website, but can anyone tell me if they're open for business this week? :)

And if you can, please do!

Looking at last year's LSN, it seems that there is some activity the week after Christmas. Last year it looks like about a dozen people got decisions on Dec. 28. Hopefully they do some status checker emails this week as well.

Congrats on the Deans Scholarships everyone. I wasn't expecting merit aid at all, obviously, but still a little envious :p

Time to crack down on finding those elusive external scholarships!

Indeed! :D Thanks for the info, homie. I don't expect to hear back from a while longer, but it's nice to know that they're at least working through apps this week.

Got a knock on the door and a big flashy package from cornell with an accepted students binder... I then found a small envelope in the mail from michigan offering 54k! Great day!

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
