I received an e-mail today telling me to go into my PAWS account and either accept/reject my financial aid offer... for 40k.

That's super cool and all, LSU, but you rejected me a month ago! LOL

Best of luck to everyone

As an accepted student still waiting to hear from financial aid, I am deeply offended by this.

Is anyone's scholarship info showing up in their loans? I qualified for 50k a year as an out of state student but I received a scholarship to reduce it to in state tuition.

I'm now convinced that something has gone horribly wrong with my seat deposit and I probably got released from the school which is why I never received a financial aid email ... maybe I will just call them tomorrow and ask whats up...

Is calling everyday overkill?? I still have heard nothing from LSU, although my status has updated to multiple dates with the same thing. I just want an answer before I graduate and have to be stuck in this place I live already. LSU is my ticket out!

I know most Law Schools can increase your financial aid amount if you want a laptop. Do you know if the financial aid department from LSU can increase the money they provide if you want a laptop for Law School? I see my scholarship amount but it is shown to be a gradplus loan. I'm so confused.....

no my scholarship information is not showing up....from what the email says, if you recieve a scholarship you must let the office of financial aid know about it.

Kind of disappointed with the inflexibility of the financial aid office.

We are all 22 year olds recently out of undergrad with no dependants, thus we all face the exact same cost of attendance. Any evidence to the contrarty is malarky.

Are you saying they won't increase your CoA because you have a family? I can't think of any more legitimate reason to need an increase.

ME 04/2011: Can the COA be adjusted to include things such as childcare or a higher amount for room and board if I could provide documentation to support those?

F Aid: Your COA is correct then. COA cannot be adjusted to include childcare or room and board.

I started asking these questions months ago. No promises were made or anything of that sort, but if the office was unwilling to make any adjustments then why not just tell me that months ago.

Me 02/2011: The questions that I have all center on the cost of attendance listed on the financial aid website. I assume that these numbers are based off of average numbers for the average living expenses from the average student. Giving my situation my numbers would actually be a bit higher. Is the LSU Financial Aid office able to make these adjustments for higher room and board as well as some allowance for child care? If so, what documentation will be required?

F Aid: I cannot answer that right now, not until we actually get your FAFSA and start to review it. At that time, we will go through the verification process which will cover all of that. So right now, you are good. Just hold tight b/c we will not start looking at the new FAFSA’s until sometime in March.

I called the financial aid office about scholarships this afternoon and was told that the law school hasn't given them the info about scholarships yet. As soon as they do, financial aid will reconfigure your aid package and send you another email.

I got an email from fin.aid informing me they had adjusted my award package to reflect my scholarship. The amount of loans available is now less than before but my scholarship is not showing.
