Wait, does this mean they're on a break from making decisions for a few weeks? I really hope not! I'm not surprised that I still haven't heard from Stanford and Yale, as they're notoriously slow, but I really thought I would have heard from Chicago by now.
They mean their students are on break. The tweet is to a mac and cheese truck that is going around Chicago. This week is Chicago finals and next 2 weeks are spring break.
Haha ok, that makes sense. Apparently my brain is not functioning well at the moment. Thanks!

I'm jealous of people whose UR dates have updated to March. I had my first one 1/19 and second 2/11, and now I'm stuck! Really, I'd just like to know either way.

Don´t be jealous, all we have at the moment is a new UR date. And apparently with no tweeting afoot we´re not gonna hear either :(

On a side note, I think I lost a year of my life stressing about my senior thesis and hearing back from law schools. Chicago, please be easy on me... :(

bhan - I got my first UR a week before you, and just got my 2nd this week, so yours may be coming soon.

juliachild-ish - you got into HLS already, I'm sure you have a very strong application and need not worry.

Yes, it's true, I did have the good fortune to be accepted to Harvard! However, my visit there convinced me it's not a good fit for me, and the next best school I've been accepted to is Berkeley, so I'd really love to have Chicago as an option.

K, so the 1/10 --> 2/10 --> 3/10 decision pattern seems to be broken. I want closure!

Yup, agreed. Though I really have the feeling that our decisions are coming soon...

It's not just "hates" it's "won't even let you add one to your application even if you send it."

The dire lack of enthusiasm on this thread on a supposed decision date of 3/10 has also led me to suspect that there aren't a whole lot of late applicants to UChicago.

To be fair, those decision date graphs are pretty bad. I'd look at LSN for a better idea of chances at this point.

I mean considering that I applied the day that the December LSAT scores came out (and thus would be among the earliest applicants of those who waited until those scores came out to go under consideration) and I missed the decision boat from 2/10, that would mean that U of C would be accepting no one from the December score pool. Not that I think I am an auto-admit, but that no one who applied around the same time as I did has received a decision of any kind from them suggests that there are more to come. Given the drop in LSAT takers/applicants, I find it hard to believe that U of C would have the luxury of completely ignoring a fairly significant potential applicant pool.

Those graphs are probably not quite as applicable this year as everything has seemed to lag behind the pace of last year's cycle. I imagine that most of the acceptances have already been handed out by now, but I have to believe will be a decent number of acceptances in the near future. Unlike some schools such as UVA/NYU where there appears to be a constant trickle of acceptances until some point in mid-March where almost all of the decisions are WL/Rejections (we seem to have reached the tipping point with UVA and will probably see NYU switch courses soon), Chicago seems to release decisions in discrete bunches. I mean if you look at that graph, there were three distinct spikes of acceptances (excluding the obvious ED one). We have only had two major decision days thus far, so we still have one more to go. If you haven't heard after the next big decision day from Chicago, then you have something to worry about, but until then, there is still hope.

I also applied the day Dec. LSAT scores came out, and I would also like to think I have a pretty good shot at acceptance at Chicago--my Harvard acceptance would argue in my favor. I can't see why they would ignore the entire pool of December LSAT takers. But maybe that's just me trying to keep hope alive.

While I still believe what I said above, I personally will be kind of annoyed if they don't get to that third batch of decisions soon... Chicago is one of the last schools on my list I would seriously consider if I were to be accepted.
