It's a bitch.
Parents just pulled an all-nighter filling out their portion last night. Just another reason why they're awesome.
Edit: It's also my mom's birthday today. Not the best birthday present I ever gave her.

The worst part is getting all that info from my parents. I'm going to give them my password and have them fill that part out themselves. I really don't feel like doing it. And I have class until 2:30 PM and then work until 8 PM. This is going to be a fun night.

I'm sitting around waiting to fucking submit because I forgot my wallet and I can't pay the $28 for a NEED form and my parents won't call me back.

I don't know what to do about this stupid NeedAccess thing! I don't have two of my W-2s yet, and my 2010 tax year is significantly different than my 2009 year, so I can't just fill in estimates from 2009. I mean, I guess I'll have to, in order to have it in by today, but it's going to be wildly inaccurate, so what's the point?

No idea if it's due, but fwiw I went ahead and submitted it anyway and just sent it to all the schools to which I applied that use it.

My best guess is that if you don't fill it out now and get in later, your financial aid will be slowed down/possibly nonexistent. After all, I'm submitting the FAFSA to about 5 schools I haven't heard from yet. But perhaps someone who participated in the U Chicago chats earlier can reply with more certainty.

Can't fill mine out yet, probably wouldn't get any need-based aid, and I may not even be able to attend.
Have fun w/NeedAccess, y'all!

Yeah probably recommended that you do. Using estimates are fine.

Pretty sure it is, yeah? The website says Feb. 1 and makes no distinction between applicants and admits.

I don't have my W2 yet and I don't think my parents do either. Why the hell would Chicago make this due on February 1, considering yesterday was the deadline to get W2s mailed out?
Yeah, I can use estimates, but why would Chicago put the deadline so early that it guarantees plenty of people will have wildly inaccurate info?

Per the Chicago website, "It is important to submit all forms on time; late forms and information may not be considered."
Eski's right, no distinction between applicants and admits.

Plus a billion! The most ridiculous part about it is that not only do you have to fill out all the stuff for 2010 (when many people, including myself don't have their 2010 W2s yet) but you also have to fill out stuff for 2011! Why yes, I can predict the future...I guess for some people that might be easy, but I've pretty much had a different job/salary grade every year that I've been in the workforce. Arghhh.

The Need Access form is only for those who are admitted and have university logins. It is used to consider your financial need when allocating scholarships
So those who havent been submitted, our only hope for aid is through FAFSA

No, NeedAccess as well. Not sure when FAFSA is due. Just got both mine submitted hallelujah. Did anyone else feel really dumb for having to list places like Harvard and Stanford even though you
know you're not getting in?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
