Does anyone know the likelihood of getting even a nominal scholly off the WL?

Would love to attend (assuming I get LUCKY and get of the WL), but don't think I could go at sticker.

I got 30K off the WL last cycle, so it's possible. Ironically, I got the same 30K from them this cycle. Will be withdrawing soon.

I just want to help relieve some nerves for everyone still waiting. Yes the deposit is due 4/29 BUT you have two weeks from the time you receive your admission.

Relax guy... the fact that they still have not given you any news means there is something in your app they like and they want to see how the class is filling in. Yet at the same time they don't want to scare you off with the wait list. That is one of the many reason that come to mind. Go forward with your life, and if you get that phone call jump for joy and if not then you've already gone past it. FYI UCLA does has received the largest amount of apps of any school (or close to it).

In the end things work out... coming from an already Wait-Listed student.

thanks! to be honest though, I will probably not end up at UCLA although it was my top choice if I were to stay in CA. Unless I miraculously decide to stay in SoCal I don't know if I will attend. We'll see though -- I already withdrew from a bunch of schools and sent in my deposit to Penn and might withdraw from NYU soon as well.

Howdy, y'all. This is my first post to TLS, but I've been a frequent lurker in this forum. Just wanted to say that I just got my admit by phone, and I thought I'd add my data, FWIW. Super splitter (173/3.01), not a URM, but with really strong softs: academically rigorous undergrad, work experience, military experience, high GPA at schools after undergrad. (I also live in SoCal, but I'm not convinced that makes a difference.) Basically what I'm saying is that I'm a really borderline case, and I think probably this week is the week they admit their "iffy" people. So... there's hope!
