Created account just to say this...someone needs to count the names on that matriculated students list. UCLA normally has a class size of 300-320, so by counting the number of matriculated students we might get a better idea of how many seats are still available!

On the other hand if anyone can figure out what means to be "A1" or "AS", on that chart then you're smart---cause I cant.

Maybe it has to do with the certainty of matriculation? People who are likely to be on other waitlists versus those who are not, or scholarship status.NorCalBruin wrote:On the other hand if anyone can figure out what means to be "A1" or "AS", on that chart then you're smart---cause I cant.
In any case, 306 is a little disheartening to everyone else who, like me, is stuck on a waitlist.

Re: UCLA? 2011
i'd imagine that at least some of those on the list have submitted only one seat deposit and may not actually attend.
though i'm sure that number is still fairly small.

Re: UCLA? 2011
In all fairness if 320 is the "target", that is still 14 available spots + at least 5-10 that have been admitted and may not attend.
Seems to me that 20-24 potential WL spots should be good news (but maybe I'm being overly generous). Hard to say given that we don't know the expectations for class size or deposited students' future decisions.

Now if they could just send out an email with a complete list of wait listed applicants we might all have a better idea where we stand 306 makes me very nervous about our chances

A follow up email comes a day or two after the acceptance with aid if you qualify. As I understand it, it's almost all need based now vs. merit, so if you are broke you can get something...just how much, well I wouldn't expect miracles.bigjinjapan wrote:In off the WL. Not necessarily. I do not have a very high LSAT score comparatively, but my GPA is pretty up thereJD=Doctor wrote:bigjinjapan wrote:In off the WL. What is UCLA's reputation in NY like? Can anyone speak to how easy/hard it would be to come back to NY from LA?

Congrats to those who got if from the WL, and good luck to those still waiting...
I think I'm gonna withdraw.
getting a little frustrated, UCLA hasn't contacted me AT ALL after the "we got your WL form" email.
did they ever update you on what was going on with the WL?

Re: UCLA? 2011
Any updates? I'm still on the WL and sent a couple of e-mails earlier in the month. I've advised them that I'm willing to wait as long as it may take (even after classes start) so I'm hoping they'll hold out on me. Anyone else still WL?

This after I enrolled at USC, placed a deposit, and asked them to remove me from the UCLA WL!!!
What would you guys do?

Re: UCLA? 2011
Depends on the relative CoA at each school. They are geneally peers with UCLA holding a slight edge, so at equal cost, go to UCLA. Otherwise, I think USC is probably your choice here.

Re: UCLA? 2011
UCLA is going to cost me appx $36,000 less after 3 years than USC, assuming USC doesn't match their offer.
What I like about USC is the alumni network, but I'm trying to find out if it's for real. Since I intend to stay in SoCal for a bit and would like to work in the entertainment industry, that certainly appeals to me...
Thoughts?
