Yeah I saw it coming but a lot of me wishes UC's reserved 80% of spots in each class for tax-paying in state students like so many other states seem to do. In state tuition is barely cheaper anyway.

I think they put all of our applications on a wall and then throw darts at them color coded for admit, reject, waitlist Then they go into a hat where someone draws a couple a day at random and decides to notify them.Bildungsroman wrote:I wish I could figure out a single thing about UCLA's method for choosing who to decide on and call when...

As the safe haven to reverse splitters, and the school of choice for mid-level candidates desperate for California, I think UCLA may have a unique enough position that their choices can come down softs more easily than others.Bildungsroman wrote:I wish I could figure out a single thing about UCLA's method for choosing who to decide on and call when...

Hey UCLA, I know I rejected for you for undergrad, but I likely won't reject you again. So, no hard feelings? Please don't retaliate, and reject me. It wasn't anything personal, and for what it's worth, I wish I had picked you. <3

Dear UCLA,
Its me remember? you accepted me a couple years ago as an undergrad and we have had 4 wonderful years together. Dont you want to make it 7? 7 amazing years.
Im not gonna lie and say it wasnt good cause it was, it was awesome. i know it was epic for you as well, i mean.. not even you are a good enough actress to "fake" how much you enjoyed having me IN your campus.
Forever yours (unless you reject me..and im forced to whore myself out to the school across town)

Well that makes two of us. I'd like to send the same statement to Berkeley too. I miss the great state of California. You know where it isn't -6 degrees but rather 75 in the middle of January

Re: UCLA? 2011
Agreed. Though this time around I think Berkeley would surely reject me, so I didn't bother. Score remains: Jen: 1, Berkeley: 0swimmergirl1303 wrote:JenDarby wrote:Hey UCLA, I know I rejected for you for undergrad, but I likely won't reject you again. So, no hard feelings? I guess I'm a risk taker. Worst case scenario I come out Swimmergirl 2 vs. UCLA & Berkeley 2JenDarby wrote:Agreed. Though this time around I think Berkeley would surely reject me, so I didn't bother. Jen and I will share your spot if you withdraw. We can each do half the work. So long as they give us 2 transcripts with a 4.0 on eachr6_philly wrote:They are waiting us out. Re: UCLA? 2011
I will agree to the deal if it is offered. But seeing I haven't been admitted, it is probably not a good sign. I know withdrawing from UCLA/USC is the right thing to do, but I still feel a little bitter to be still waiting. I demand 12 iTunes credits, from each.swimmergirl1303 wrote: Jen and I will share your spot if you withdraw. We can each do half the work. So long as they give us 2 transcripts with a 4.0 on each

Naw I totally get it. You paid and you deserve to see how it turns out. Hopefully all 3 of us get in tomorrow.

have the rejections started going out yet? It's so hard to keep track! For Stanford, I guess I should be happy that I haven't DLS'ed but for UCLA, this is probably bad?! AHHH i'm going crazy! Thank god for TLS, you guys are awesome!

I know I applied to Berkeley for UG but didn't think you were worth $80 more even though all I had to do was check off another box online, I didn't even need another app. I just want to say, it's because I didn't know you well enough yet and for what it's worth, I wish I had at least applied.

I'm in a similar position, minus the money from UCLA. It's a tough call, visit all the ASWs and remember you don't have to make up your mind right away.supersar wrote:ok everybody i need some advice! $$ and UCLA vs. $ at Mich vs. not sure about $ at Chicago - obviously Chicago is ridiculously amazing, went to Mich undergrad and loved it but do I want 7 years in the same place? and I have tons of family in UCLA and a lot of scholarship $ so what do I do??? any thoughts at all are much appreciated! thanks friends!
