I just want my app to go from Processing to UR. (What I really want is to go from Processing to giving me a nice purple envelope saying Welcome to Mutha Fuckin NYU!)

That IS what it says. I can't find the post right now, but if you scroll through last year's thread you'll find it...Kili wrote:If I received an admit packet from NYU and this is what it said, then I would feel obliged to withdraw all my other applications and matriculate. I would be too, but I'm ED so...Kili wrote:If I received an admit packet from NYU and this is what it said, then I would feel obliged to withdraw all my other applications and matriculate. Someone went stalking through last year's thread/LSN and it looks like the 12/1 decisions were postmarked then. But who knows what kinds of craziness status checkers will cause!CastleRock wrote:So do we think decisions tomorrow?
I hope they use the status checkers. It take mail 2-3 weeks to get here.dulcatis wrote:Someone went stalking through last year's thread/LSN and it looks like the 12/1 decisions were postmarked then. Haha that was me. Yeah decisions postmarked 12/1 got to people on dates ranging from like 12/3 to like 12/7 or even 8.dulcatis wrote:Someone went stalking through last year's thread/LSN and it looks like the 12/1 decisions were postmarked then. Isn't it more likely that the date they send out acceptances this year would vary somewhat?
I mean, I'd love it to be tomorrow, but I'm wondering if this isn't a bit too much excitement too soon.
So far past trends have proven correct for most of the t14. No reason to think NYU will be any different.s0ph1e2007 wrote:Do you really think they're going to wait and send out a ton of acceptances tomorrow just because it's the first?

To be even more optimistic, maybe NYU's doing what Columbia did this year. Last year they released ED decisions on the first Tuesday after thanksgiving which last year was 12/1, but this year was today 11/30. What if NYU is doing the same?hellome wrote:hm, good points0ph1e2007 wrote:Do you really think they're going to wait and send out a ton of acceptances tomorrow just because it's the first?

maybe not the 1st but this week is highly likely
so i don't think the excitement is too soon
besides, it's never too soon

It will happen by latest next week IMO. This week is more likely.s0ph1e2007 wrote:CastleRock wrote:So far past trends have proven correct for most of the t14. Okay.
I admit I never search old threads, so people who do will know more than me about this.
I'm perfectly happy to hear back tomorrow or in the next couple days. Would love a second Acceptance waiting on a JR1 right now and a bunch of papers due, so an acceptance from NYU would make me happy.

oh, is tomorrow just for EDers then?
This was my thought, too! *fingers crossed*To be even more optimistic, maybe NYU's doing what Columbia did this year. Last year they released ED decisions on the first Tuesday after thanksgiving which last year was 12/1, but this year was today 11/30. What if NYU is doing the same?

I checked dulcatis' thread to answer my own question. Apparently no one was rejected or waitlisted during the first week of December last year. So, if the status checkers do work and you get "Decision" or something similar, you're probably in.vicuna wrote:Were rejections, deferrals, and waitlists also sent out on December 1st last year? Or only acceptances? In other words, if my status checker reads "Decision" tomorrow, should I (cautiously) rejoice?
