I'm blasting the new Kanye CD, its terrific and a great way to relieve stress!
Hey Ship87, ima let you finish your cycle but kanye had one of the best cycles of all time. Of all time.

Lol no really though that album is sick.
I actually lol'd at this...then had to try to explain to my Japanese co-workers why it was so funny. Alas, much like "your mom" jokes, there seem to be some things that just don't translate...

So the verdict is that no 1/21 DLSers have gotten any news, good or bad? And none of us can get into the ASW?

Correct. It's possible that we're all fucked, but I refuse to believe that until the letter is in my hand.

Exactly! I would feel much worse if other 1/21 DLS people could get into the website and I couldn't. It just seems unlikely that our fairly solid to strong numbers would all be rejections! This most likely signals a change from NYU in the time frame that they give accepted students access to the ASW. I'm with Subtle on this one.

I agree with hot, our numbers seem very reasonable for a nice wave of purple envelopes :D

It's funny how this same thing has happened over and over during the 174 pages of this thread: a group of people switch to Complete or DLS on the same day and the panic begins until the decisions are reached and people migrate to other threads/forums. Its like what happens each time scores are released. Anyone else feel nostalgia looking over the LSAT prep forum at the massive waiting threads?

I'm glad we will not know until the letter arrives. Being able to log on is not the climax i paid $12 for.

That has to be an epic application fail. Dude applied and got axed 6 weeks later with a 3.4/172 from HYP...M/A URM? Something smells wrong.

Cawquette, where are you located and what was your DLS date? Are you a DLS 1/21?

Maybe they didn't actually send them out on Friday to the DLS 1/21 crowd. I think some DLS 1/18s said their letters were actually postmarked the 20th when they received them?

Nothing from NYU here in PA :( no letter, no ASW, no hope

I'll be really dissapointed and dismayed if all this waiting led to a rejection. I think an email followed by their famous pizza box would have been a better way to go.

MeganEW just updated on LSN saying she was rejected at NYU via email today.

Does that mean rejections go by email and all the "decision letter mailed" folks have good news coming?

I thought I read that they do both acceptances and rejections solely by snail mail, but the LSN profile seems legit so maybe they're changing things up now?

Has anybody received non-positive snail mail yet?

I haven't heard of NYU rejecting by email, I think that may be a typo. Maybe 1/21 was a massive pile of rejects

The LSN profile is mine. ;)

I did receive an emailed rejection. Since the wording is so polite and I really just had to apply because of the "what if" factor, I'm not bitter. I don't have access to gmail at work, so I can't c&p, but this is what it said:
Dear Ms. [LWoods],

The Committee on Admissions has carefully considered your application. I regret to inform you that we are unable to offer you admission to the New York University School of Law. We expect more than 8,500 candidates to compete for admission this year, which means that the Committee must make difficult choices.

We hope you understand that our decision on your application is not an estimate of your potential as a law student or an attorney. Since the vast majority of our applicants are clearly capable of success in law school and beyond, we inevitably must turn away many whom we expect will succeed in law simply for lack of space in our class. Please accept our best wishes for your educational and professional success.

Sincerely,
[Signature image]
Kenneth J. Kleinrock
Assistant Dean for Admissions
If most people only get the snail mail, maybe I got the email because I'm an alumna of the undergrad? Or because two of my LOR writers are Law alumni?

Anyway, hope those who haven't gotten an e-mail with Decision Letter Sent receive good news ASAP! I still love NYU and am happy to answer any questions about life in the village (via PM, this thread is too monstrous to follow ;)).
