I know it's too soon to call and that nobody knows the answer to this question (please don't precedent cat me!) but could it be possible that NYU is going to stop updating it's status checker? If so that would give me a reason to start cheeking my mailbox again :)

That doesn't seem likely.

You have given so many of us renewed hope! RD or ED? When did you submit?

I'm pretty sure rejects do. I would imagine the others as well but I am not sure.

Rejected ED...166/3.6/very good softs

Would it be unreasonable to ask if I can take the February LSAT and be reconsidered?

Haha I'm from the Boston area, submitted RD. Not sure what date I was complete because I'm on my iPhone not computer, but submitted shortly before Thanksgiving and was complete in the first week of December I believe. Then UR 12/8. I'm assuming I just fell through the status checker cracks because it's new for them?

Yay movement for the 10/20 crowd.

My decision was sent 12/17, and I am hoping to get in. Have there been any rejections/WL so far?

From the FAQ:
NYU wrote:Do you accept the February LSAT exam when applying for the Fall 2011 semester?

Applicants must take the LSAT no later than December 2010 in order to apply to enter in the Fall 2011 semester.

Has anybody on here talked to Dean Kleinrock either face-to-face or over the phone before?

I went UR on 12/17 and got a call from somebody in the admissions office asking about part of my app. He didn't say his name and I panicked too hardcore to ask (I thought to, but then I figured, "Nonono! He must have said it at the beginning of the convo and you just didn't hear/remember it!! Don't ask now, you'll look stupid!" After mentally replaying the whole conversation 1793 times, I feel confident in asserting that he didn't give his name). Anyhow, it was a male with kind of slow speech and a mild northeastern accent (New Yorkerish, maybe? I'm from the South, so it's hard to distinguish NE accents). Somebody, anybody, please ease my anguish by telling me the guy I babbled to like an idiot was NOT the dean of admissions...

Why is this thread not blowing up? First someone claims to have received a purple envelope but not a status update, then another person announces (what I think is) the first rejection of the cycle. What gives?

I am too busy hyperventilating about having my mail forwarded to my house for only a week, if my letter has been sent even though I am UR, and not knowing what time the mail comes in Alabama.

I think the rejection was ED, so should not impact RD candidates too much.

I submitted on 11/15, and it still says my application is being processed. Is this normal or should I call the admissions office? I'm RD

I waited just over a month before changing to under review. I've been suggesting that people call if they wait more than five weeks, but I don't have any experience to back that up, just a feeling that longer than that is too long. If you want some movement on your file before the new year you might have to call early this week.

His original account got banned because he started a thread "3.78/178...money from a T14?" and got into an argument with someone who thought he was a flame.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
