My status just updated to 'Decision Letter sent', but the status date is 11/15. Should I be concerned about this? Or is it the general consensus that this is user error on NYU's part? Or backdating, or something odd?

My theory is that it means they decided to admit you back on 11/15 but they didn't mail it out til today. Congrats :)

I dont understand why us 12/3 people were the first ones to change.

Maybe they scanned the "decision sent" envelopes in reverse chronological order??

Who knows, and as long as it's an acceptance I won't fricking care either

Yeah...I won't care if the applications are carried to piles and sorted by plague rats as long as I can get an acceptance :D

Yes, sir! I do believe my second question hasn't been completely answered (from my research in this thread). So...do we think NYU will continue to mail decisions throughout the week?

Hmm good question. I'm really not sure how their decision (acceptance?) waves goes down. Maybe someone else will be more helpful - I'm really just responding cause I don't want to seem like too much of a dick from my last post =)

Check out the decision date graph for NYU here: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=137012

Looks like people get them pretty much throughout December, but some of these are postmark dates and others are actual "received" dates so it's hard to tell exactly what'll happen.

I asked this in a different thread but this is the NYU 2011 thread so I'll repeat.
I put myself in a quandry (pm for details) that may result in me going to NYU paying sticker next year. Would that be worth it ITE? I honestly don't mind doing biglaw for a while and I know NYU has great LRAP.

You're my numbers twin. Except I applied ED. So I'll be curious to hear how it goes for you. If we both get in, I'll feel lousy about having ED'd. But getting in is always better than not!

Good!! I need something to salivate over till USPS makes it to the west coast.
Edit: I think they still deliver these by horse.

It's quite possible that NYU said "Decision letter" on 12/3 and then just held off on printing those and mailing those until this round was done... Makes sense.

Don't SAY that :( :( :( They shouldn't say "decision letter sent" if it hasn't been sent! :(

That makes sense, except the status says decision letter sent on 12/3. Of course that doesn't necessarily mean they actually sent it on that date.

That's kind of what I was getting at... Would YOU go through the hassle of having to do a giant mail merge and process hundreds of acceptances and envelopes several times over? Or would you just say "this can wait until Monday when I have to do it again anyways."?

I don't want to sounds ungrateful, but my excitement is somewhat overshadowed by my anxiety over my CLS ED app. :| :? *sigh*

Truth. Though I'd rather do a half as many on two separate days than do them all on one day. But who knows...I suppose if they had truly sent them on friday, NYC people would surely have gotten them by today.

Uh obviously they read TLS and realized that I would be very upset if they did this, so they sent it RIGHT AWAY on 12/3. And they're delivering it by hand or something. I don't know

Sorry if this has been answered already:

I have "Decision Letter Sent Out" for 12/3/2010. Is it safe to assume that it's an acceptance letter if I have competitive stats (75% at LSAT) ?

The reason I ask is because I can't check my mail until right before Christmas or so
