Multiple LSATs?
I'm actually taking the LSAT again in Feb........... Do they hate multiple LSAT's???
Anecdotal evidence seems to lean towards them not liking multiple LSATs. I think though that they do encourage addendums for it. From what I can tell it seems that if you have multiple LSATs you should explain it to be sure.

I have multiple LSATs. One is really low. Has NYU started sending out dings already? I'm sorry if it's been previously discussed.

Hmm... maybe I should write and send in a multiple LSAT addendum right now.

Also I haven't seen any dings, but then again I haven't been following this thread so closely.

Nyu is infamous for averaging LSATs
Yeah, a good amount people ive seen with solid number combos that get wl'd tend to be retakes with low scores in the past. Obviously it matters less if your retaking a 171 for a 175, or if you jumped from a 165 to a 180. But if you're going 163->170 you definitely have something keeping you a step below a person with a solid 170 or even a single 169.

Give it a day or so, being able to login doesn't happen right away (1.5 days for me, for some others 3+)

Hmm. I went 163->174. Trying to think of something to write for an addendum to NYU. Ideas to explain the 163?

Things during 163 not during the 174:
-did not sleep well
-nervous
-tiny arm-desk thing
-needed to piss pretty badly in the middle of the third section (not experimental apparently)
-~2 year span in between LSATs (guess I studied more the second time)

None of those really seem like a good reason...

the two year span is a good reason. if you took a course, say so. or generally, you can say that you've found the two years to be critical in refocusing your efforts on taking the lsats and you got the score to prove it.

My first score was lower than your first, but our retakes are the same. I got into NYU, here is my addendum, which seems to have worked so far except for with Harvard...

"Unfortunately, during the June 2010 LSAT, I let my nerves disrupt my concentration, which negatively affected my score. Since my score of XXX was below my expected testing abilities I decided to retake it in October 2010. I entered the October test with a different mindset, which I believe is reflected in my new score of a 174. Although both scores are shown on my report, I respectfully ask you to consider the 174 as indicative of my true abilities."

Hope that helped!

Thanks for that tip. I just sent off an addendum about it. One with a very positive, anti-whining, no-excuses theme. If I get into NYU, it will be thanks to rs2004.

Not necessarily but if you have an LSAT pending (as you do), admissions offices usually put your file on hold.
Are you sure because since I signed up for the Feb LSAT. I have gotten about 7 acceptances including 2 in the top 15. I've been in review at NYU for a month do you really think they'd just stop reviewing it? I was taking it again mainly because I want a higher score for merit money. My GPA is great but my LSAT may limit my merit aid. Plus I would really like to see what I can do on the LSAT when I don't have to take a 6hr train ride through four countries after work to take the test the next day.

Wow your GPA is high compared to mine though. Just read this post after I submitted the addendum. I focused mine on how I did a bunch of stuff in the 22 months between LSATs and how I am a vastly different candidate since the first one.

Numbers? When did you apply? I would actually take this as long as I got a decision. I'm so tired of this waiting crap. Then I could decide what I want to do.........

The epic end of Mutombo's epic career. Ironically he blew his knee out playing against Greg Oden. This is how I will feel when I don't get into NYU.

I was a 166 3.3, I just happen to have an interesting(to some people at least) personal story so I figured I'd send out some longshots to uber reach schools. I was never expecting to get in so I'm not heartbroken.

sorry if this has been asked before, but has anyone gotten an email from an alum through the "alumni match program"? seems like just an informal channel to ask questions, but it's nice that they find you an alum!
