Hopefully I am. All I have to do is be admitted. Would it be a little weird for me to just show up and go through ASW because I love the school.jtemp320 wrote:Congrats Knock!!!

Re: NYU 2011
Does anyone have an UR date of 11/22 at NYU? I have this date at 3 different schools and am a little concerned that there was a problem with my application that the schools communicated with each other on. (I have no idea what this could be as I am the only one that ever had that UR date at the other 2 schools.

I wish that UR dates and decision letters went exactly in chronological order, because that would mean my decision is coming up soon.
Anyway, you'll probably have it by Friday. Let us know!

Re: NYU 2011
NYU must be ninjas or something. I got the email today about financial aid. How did they know I got my letter yesterday?!?! . But the email didn't have a link to the financial aid form I need to fill out for merit-based aid? Is it on their website?
ETA: Literally just got the admitted students website email, I assume it's in there.

Re: NYU 2011
If I'm only trying for merit aid, do I need to fill out the NeedAccess form? Or can I fill it out with just my own information and not my parents. Putting my parents information would be a joke because theirs no way I'm going to be considered needy.
But is NYU like Columbia in that sometimes their need-based aid may show a bias towards merit applicants?
Also - I'm planning to defer for a year anyway, so I guess I would have to redo all this next year?

Re: NYU 2011
I kinda got the impression from the financial aid email that they use NeedAccess for the merit awards as well.Knock wrote:Where on the admitted students site is the form I need to fill out for merit-based aid?
"We encourage you to complete the financial aid application which will be used to determine your eligibility for NYU School of Law scholarships, merit awards, and/or need based grants.
NYU uses the “Need Access” application which is also used by many law schools in the country to determine financial need and/or scholarship eligibility. The application form is available on-line and is accessible at http://www.needaccess.org/Home.aspx
Students who elect not to provide parental information on the application will be considered for merit based scholarship awards only.
If you applied for one of our named scholarship programs through the admissions process and such program requires an interview, we encourage you to complete the Need Access financial aid application prior to the scheduled interview."
It sounds like you need parental information to be considered for need-based, but you need the NeedAccess application to be considered for both merit and need-based. Feel free to correct me if I'm reading that wrong.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
