I am little confused by NYU's status checker. Can someone explain what the progression of statuses should be? Is "application processing" equivalent to under review or is that the status prior to complete? Thanks!

No, there is a under review status, but you may wait over a month to switch to it from processing.

The nice thing about that is you can pad your ego with acceptances before getting your soul-crushed by rejections.

i like to make myself not depressed by telling myself these were just LAST YEAR's medians, when cycle was craziest of all time...can't stay there forever, right..........

I'm UR 12/1 (first time) and an RD applicant. Here I was kind of wishing and hoping for a decision pre-Christmas. But after reading the last few pages, I won't hold my breath.
