Yes. You need to withdraw immediately from other schools. NYU will send out a notification of your ED contract and acceptance to the other schools to which you've applied, and you want to make sure it's done by then. Just send a quick email to the other schools and you're set!
Thanks, guys! Gendefect, I agree -- just for the sake of satisfying my curiosity, I wanted to know if I'd get into CLS, since I think I had a shot RD. I remember us having the same dilemma about applying ED, but personally I'm really glad I ended up doing it (provided I get in, of course...)
Right and if we don't, well, then we can see if we had an RD shot at CLS after all.

Win win! Sort of...

Exactly. This thread is NYU 2011. I don't know that it ever had a rail to begin with. It's sort of a grab-bag, smorgasboard (if you will) of a thread. Cats and Harry Potter seem thoroughly appropriate to me...
