Deferred ED, DLS 4/16 (first movement in almost 4 months!). Sorry for asking this question as I am sure it has been addressed many times throughout this thread, but how soon are people usually able to access the ASW if accepted? Also, have letters been taking forever to arrive as they did in December? I'm in the NY area....

Usually 2-3 days at least. A huge batch of us have gone DLS 4/13 and 4/16. No one has been able to access the ASW yet. Good luck!

Thanks, wiseguy! Any idea as to what "DLS" actually means? When they made the decision, or when they sent it out from admissions office? When I checked this afternoon (4/18) I was still UR but my status changed tonight to DLS 4/16.

Good question. Here's another:

Are NYU rejections usually emailed or mailed?

If the latter, than those of us with 4/13 dates might be receiving a non-purple envelope in a few days.

WL/dings come via email not snail mail. As of today, that seems to have changed.

yeah I mean there was a delay in getting the WL emails (one day) in those cases but an email still came. I doubt that they'd change their method of notifying dings all of a sudden by doing snail mail. If these were dings, don't you think an email would have come by now (3 bus days later)? I personally think DLS 4/13 is good news..

After being UR 10/22 for ages, I am finally DLS 4/13. Good news or bad news be damned, I am at least glad to finally see some movement.

ahhh congrats on DLS (from my view that is an accomplishment in and of itself haha)! I think there's a reallyyy good chance DLS 4/13 signals good news...your #s are pretty solid for NYU

Haha, thanks. I already sent my first deposit in to Michigan... so there is almost no chance I will go if I get in.. but I would definitely still like to have the option..

Although to be quite honest, I am almost certain this will not mean good news. Just a feeling, considering the circumstances.

Habit - will be heading to Penn, which I'm def happy about...but still prayyyyyyyying for NYU. How bout you? (ps this is gonna sound totally creepy probly but i was chatting with fellow TLSers monkey, dulc and azn at penn's asw and they were like ohhh that's "excellence = habit" over there...so I know who you are, haha. We had been talking about TLS people we liked thats why!)

From the people who have posted so far, 4/13 DLS'ers seem to be mostly people with at least solid WL numbers. Have no idea what's going on with the delay though. Would (obviously) love it if 4/13 = admit, will be somewhat surprised if everyone at 4/13 is dinged--some of y'all have excellent stats.

+1. UR 1/7 nothing since. Obviously the only school left to hear from. I thought cornell was slow. alkjdf;lskdjf;aksdjf;aldkjsf;

+1 UR 11/1 and not a peep. Called them the other day because of an exploding offer and they said, "we have until the end of the month to make decisions." Really? That is sooooo long and it seems like everyone else plans to wrap up by Friday.

I'm pretty sure Michigan would come out on top for me, but I feel like I can't really evaluate that accurately without knowing whether NYU/CLS are actually possibilities.

But no. I can't imagine what I would find out about CLS/NYU that would turn me from Mich. Except the fact that CLS has Supreme court alumni.

The same thing you're doing? I don't know - if NYU (or CLS, by the way) ends up letting me in, I'd like to have the chance to think about it and compare the pros and cons.
