Lol!! Thanks... Do they even send out acceptances so late? Should I just give up and look elsewhere?subtle wrote:blacklawboss wrote:you are WAAAYYY NEW! relax have a seat in the back of the bus and hopefully you hear something in May/JuneJrot11 wrote:Hey, new to the site so pls excuse my ignorance. I'm not surprised to have not heard an answer yet as I applied 2 days before the deadline, UR 2/15. Just wondering whether anyone knows whether there is a general date after which I should no longer expect to receive an acceptance because they have moved on WL and dings?

I applied two hours before midnight on February first and was accepted a couple of weeks ago. There doesn't seem to be too much rhyme or reason to when you hear from them.

Re: NYU 2011
I saw this graph and I got nervous because it seems to indicate that there is a slim chance of getting in this late... Then I realized that when I compared the 09-10 to the 08-09, there were many significant differences. One school accepted much later in 08-09 than in 09-10. Another had a late March surge to rival the December surge of acceptances. If anything, it's likely that last year was the anomalous one, since there was such a glut of applicants. This year, they were prepared for a glut, and then there wasn't one, so one (me, in particular) can hope that there are still numerous spots to be filled.redsoxfan2495 wrote:I applied two hours before midnight on February first and was accepted a couple of weeks ago. Dinged by email 170, 3.89.
But I was a bad, bad boy back in the past and should be thankful for my admission to the school (s) ranked directly below NYU.
Don't read too much into my numbers.

DLS 3/10
UR since 1/10. Seeing as it's mid March, I'm expecting a waitlist/rejection. Why couldn't this DLS be a week ago...

I would not jump to that conclusion. Good luck.

Agreed, I think you would probably see a lot more people reporting DLS if the waitlist tsunami had hit.BrightLine wrote:spacepenguin wrote:DLS 3/10

Just looking at the chart above makes me terrified beyond all belief. Anyone know how NYU handled waitlists last year? Was it via email or snail mail?

Are there no WL/admits on that graph?! I hope that the LSN sample was just not representative.

People who apply and are accepted late in a cycle are less likely to self report numbers on a site like LSN. I wouldn't put too much stock in it.

Your words comfort me, but I'm curious how you know this. Is the theory that those who are more proactive both apply earlier and are more involved in sites like LSN?Keeper1125 wrote:People who apply and are accepted late in a cycle are less likely to self report numbers on a site like LSN. +1. And I mean that as in a literal plus one, as I am someone who applied late and does not report on LSN.Keeper1125 wrote:People who apply and are accepted late in a cycle are less likely to self report numbers on a site like LSN. I wouldn't put too much stock in it.

Pretty much. I applied on 02/01 (was accepted yesterday fwiw) and you won't see my info on LSN.shyde32 wrote:Your words comfort me, but I'm curious how you know this. Re: NYU 2011
Hey guys, haven't posted in the NYU thread till now - just to confirm what I basically already know, most acceptances come within 1.5 months right? I've been sitting at UR 1/31 after an early January submission date, and at this point I am already expecting a WL/rejection.
Thanks.
Thanks.
