Last year's LSN showed more acceptances through the first week of Feb then came the R/WL. I'd give it until next Sat.

Plus they went out a couple days later this year. And then the crazy weather. So go ahead and tack on a couple more days.

it's going to be funny to see the shift ITT from waiting for the mailman to fearing the mailman.

I'd be pretty happy just to get my R in Feb, and not be worrying about it all spring/summer. Luckily this will likely happen :)

I got WL last year. Since my app is stronger this year, I can only presume to get a WL to ruin the party.

you got WL at a number of schools last year, didn't you? Did you ride any of them?
your app must be a LOT stronger this year, I guess applying earlier this time must have also helped!

Dinged at
H, Y, N
WL at
Columbia, P, V, D, C, G (didn't ride)
In at
M

My PS is much improved, but on the same subject. My DS is essentially just a little refined. But my GPA went up slightly (3.88 to 3.91), I got a new job, and had more EC stuff: 1 publication, more volunteer positions, and better LORs from same people. And I started a masters at Penn.

Don't really know what helped a lot, but just glad that it did!

Yay me too! Then I just need Harvard to stop holding my app and send me my ding too and this whole process will finally be over!

I know it'll come soon for Columbia, but some of last year's Harvard holds had to wait until the end of April for their dings. I'm literally going to go insane if that happens! Whether the news is good or bad from either of these schools, I just hope I hear soon!!!

Are you au courant on last year's Harvard thread then? Can I ask if they had a forgotten pile then too? Sorry if the question is impertinent, I just look at that thread and get vertigo.

Yeah I know what you mean. But no I just skimmed through last year's hold thread when my file was held. I didn't search last year's main Harvard thread though.

Don't remember the forgotten pile from last year. I know most of the held were dinged at the end. I am really just hoping to upgrade my ding to a WL and call it a victory :D

My UG mentor keeps saying I will get in, I have no idea what he is basing this on.

FTFY! :D

And barring that happening would you choose NYU then?
Berkeley most likely
Sorry, I was looking for something else and I saw this. I'm currently sitting at NYU > CLS > Boalt. For me the logic was that NYU and CLS were so close in so many ways, that going to school downtown versus uptown was the required additional bonus (ignoring any potential financial issues). Just wondering if there was an issue with the programs that you were considering outside of location (I know you're from Cali).

Full disclosure, I'm a downtown guy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hCuMWrfXG4E

Edit: Haven't gotten into CLS, so might be a moot point. :D

Decided to stop lurking so hard and contribute a little for those that are playing the waiting game, since I'm actively using the TLS forum for dates and wait periods myself with other schools that are a little more veiled in terms of application status.

172/3.8 Non-URM.

Applied: 12/22

Complete: 01/06

Admitted Letter: 01/26

Hope this helps somebody....

Hmmm...was that a letter dated 1/26, or a letter you received 1/26? And where are you located?
Congrats!!!!

In with a Hamilton in the mid-atlantic!

Got there yesterday and was postmarked 1/25. It came at the same time as the admissions binder (no post-mark), so there was definitely a weather delay there... normally mail from ny takes 2 days.

EDIT: And congrats!

Yeah a lot of the 1/25s seemed to come with $. Hopefully there's at least one more batch of non scholly admits coming.

Thanks! That was the date received. I, unfortunately, already threw out its envelope. And I'm in NJ which I guess I made pretty clear by using "hard" as an adverb.

"Note-to-self": Stop using NJ slang when discussing Law School matters, it will invite many "Jersey Shore" jokes... :P
